One of my friends suggested that torch flowers could light up/glow brighter with movement, so they would emit light as the player walks past

Torch Flowers should not just be a light source, they should be a triggerable light source, offering a sorely needed alternative to glowstone lamps.

The light should be dependent on the flower being on irrigated farmland. That way, you could control it with redstone, via a water dispenser! It would have the unique property of having a random time delay before turning on/off, due to the time it takes for farmland to change.

Imagine putting fields of torch flowers in the floor of your base, covered by glass blocks or carpets, or having rows of them in the walls. You flick the light switch, and the lights slowly come on. Or just as a really pretty way to light up your produce farms. Related niche use: would also make irrigation mess-ups in your farms noticeable from a distance.

We're not exactly suffering a great shortage of decorative flowers anymore, but this would make them very unique and desirable, offering great motivation for players to actually bother with archeology and the sniffer to get them.

How ironic torch flower doesn't give light.

İt has name on its torch flower.

If they produced light akin to torches it would also make placing lights all around the grounds of your base look WAY cooler.
