Sniffers should lay an egg after breeding, similar to the breeding mechanic of the Turtle. After entering love mode, one of the Sniffers would find a place to lay a single egg that would later hatch into a baby Snifflet. I believe this breeding mechanic best suits the Sniffer because it is an ancient mob, and it makes most sense to have them breed this way, as the player initially has to find the fossilized *eggs* to revive the Sniffer.
