Eggs should be edible!

I have always wondered why you could not put an egg into a furnace/smoker and get a fried egg, and I am surprised it is still not a feature in the game. Eggs are a food eaten all around the world, and I would love to be able to eat them in Minecraft too. This would also bring another function to the egg item, which would be really nice since I have no idea what to do with all my extra eggs!
