Pottery sherds, not pottery shards!

Pottery fragments found in archaeological excavations are typically referred to as sherds, not shards. The item name in game should reflect this

  Not many people know this so i think the feedback site would be flooded with "shard is misspelled!!!!!!!!!1!!11!"

  You could make a resource pack to make this change though

  That's not the point.  You can't use ignorance as a defense.

  It's an incredibly common mistake, yes, but why perpetuate ignorance?  Mojang has a chance to educate an entire generation of people and make a lot of archaeologists very happy.

  It is not the same as imposter or imposter.  Shard and Sherd are two completely different words.  They are not a spelling variation.

  Shard is used for referring to a fragment of glass or crystal.  Sherd is specifically used for fragmented pottery.

  Sherd is the preferred terminology used by archaeologists and scientists that work in the field.

  Ask Wikipedia, or Google, or Youtube, or Chat GPD, or your friendly neighborhood archaeologist.  They will all tell you that sherd is the proper nomenclature for fragmented pottery in regard to archaeology.

  From Grammarist: A sherd is a broken piece of pottery with edges that are sharp, usually referring to one that is found in an archaeological site. In essence, the words shard and sherd are interchangeable, though the term sherd is favored by archaeologists. Sherd is an abbreviation of the word potsherd, which has been in use since the 1300s. The plural of sherd is sherds.

  I know this to be true because I myself worked in the Archaeology Department at my University as an undergrad and have since worked in several museums from all over the world.

  Let's have Mojang be scientifically accurate for this small instance and change that 'a' to an 'e' to help further educate people about the wonderous world of archaeology.
