Let's talk about the Cherry Blossom Biome!

There's a brand-new biome coming to Minecraft in update 1.20 - the Cherry Blossom biome. Available to try out now in Java snapshot and coming later to Bedrock preview, this biome is filled with beautiful cherry blossom trees. 

These trees come with a full wood set that is perfect for builders partial to a bit of pink, and you can even plant your own cherry blossom trees using saplings found in the biome. 

As with other 1.20 features, we're still developing and iterating on the cherry blossom biome and would love to hear general thoughts and feedback, as well as how you feel about the new wood set from a visual standpoint.

    When will this release?  I would have loved to play this during Cherry Blossom Season, will there be Wisteria in the game by the time this launches?

    On the critical side I think this is poorly implemented, if we review all the updates they have had a "theme", and this one doesn't combine very well, think about it, cherry blossoms, archeology, camels, ruins? I feel that the cherry blossoms are superfluous, they could have been in a different update, since all the "aesthetics" that we are taking in this update is very desert.

    I've read all of the comments in this thread so far, while my game idles in a Cherry Grove in the background for ambience. My cat likes to watch the petals drift to the ground!

    Number one on my wishlist for this beautiful biome: I fervently pray that the Moolip makes her debut here. I know it might be a bit late in the development cycle to add the "unique interaction with bees", but I love the Moolip so much it actually drove me to start playing with mods for the first time. These days I mainly play Bedrock though, so it's become really important to me that my favourite mob might finally be accessible in vanilla. 

    Second on my wishlist: ponds/hot springs. I love the suggestions for koi, marimo balls and petals that float on water. How can we appreciate the colour of the water if water doesn't generate?

    I also approve of foxes, as there aren't many places in the game at the moment where they can spawn without risking being chased and killed by wolves. Moss or mossy boulders would also be a beautiful complement, as would lilacs/wisteria.

    I absolutely love the textures of the new wood set and leaves. I think the green in the leaves is fine, though I agree they could be a little more transparent. I'm surprised no one's mentioned the sound of the leaves being mined: it is amazing and transports me right back into the trees I climbed as a child. I can almost smell the flowers.

    I think flying mobs would clash with the falling petals, so no need to worry about those. The bees rock though!

    please, add moolips, new flowers, make the cherry blossom biome bigger but in the middle of other two biomes, like jungle and birch forest, or savannah and taiga for example, add cherry fruit, add cherry blossom village, add mobs that can give some useful after kill him, make the biome generates in valleys, or huge hills, even add valleys that they are between big mountains, but make the valleys long, add animals, and new fishes. sorry for my bad level english

    I really like the pink petals that were added, though I was sad to find out that they were strictly flowers and not a representation of the fallen petals from the trees.

    Not saying to get rid of the flower variation since a new flower is also welcome, but having the option to craft a non-flower version from them that’s placeable like carpet to decorate with would be awesome. That was actually the first thing I tried with them was to spread them on a wooden floor. When it didn’t work, that’s when I took a closer look and realized that despite their name that they were actually flowers.

    If you do decide to give us some sort of decoration that can be spread on most blocks, it’d be nice to be able to craft other colors from other flowers and plants.

    Please make it so that when placing a block the pink flowers on the ground would disappear rather than the player having to remove it themselves.

    When is the cherry blossoms update going to come to the bedrock version of Minecraft? It was so anticipated and yet it's taking so much longer to come out then java. I wanted to start a new survival world and I've chosen to wait till the update comes out.

    Can we change the pink petals so that we can place them on water? Say we make an aesthetic pond next to our cherry tree home, it'd be cool if we could have petals on the water like lily pads.

    The biome seems to be a bit monotonous. With cherry trees, cherry particles, and cherry blossoms on the floor. Gives vibes of emptyness with the only reason even being there would be for aesthetic. Or collecting the saplings to use in builds that aren't in the biome. Perhaps having some kind of special weather system since the trees only blossom in spring, or perhaps some lore with hidden art sketched into the trees and when you use an axe in it you can either get the whole block or a side like a painting. I can understand not wanting to introduce a village since some things could be misinterpreted. However I believe adding even some niche things to the biome could massively increase public support regarding it

    All in all 1.20 is a big update, but in 1.19 and before, we got at least 3 mobs and 2 biomes, now, in 1.20 there's 2 mobs and one biome. Why?

    As usual this biome received as little as possible. Half the time the biomes are so small it has a single tree, or even none. Nothing happens here. Some trees and flowers plopped onto completely out of place looking grass. Also the fact they only spawn on mountains is a shame. Would look great on flat land and maybe then they’d be less microscopic in size. Overall, trees look beautiful, biome is extremely poorly executed. Can’t say I’m surprised tbh.

    I'm gonna be honest. My whole family (my big family) loves the colour of it. The stairs and planks are cute and the tree looks very pretty however you should make an animal that describes the biome if possible thanks you.

    Its okay but I wouldve definetly wanted these things for the biome:

    - A different color of grass like a green/teal color

    - Less flowers, there are too many

    - Some trees have white leaves

    I know the update just came out so hopefully it gets tweaked

    I think that players should be able to harvest cherries from the new trees. before you dismiss my comment, please consider that apples grow on oak trees, so this wouldn't be "unrealistic" when compared to that. <3

    I think one simple quality of life update would be having the ability to place the pedals on other blocks than dirt. The pedals are seen falling from the tree so it would be logical if a trail were to be built that the pedals could fall upon them as well. Perhaps if the pedal wasn't treated completely as a flower which is locked to being placed on dirt, it could be put into a "leaf/pedal" category. This category could also future proof other ideas developers may have had cross their mind such as leaf bundles in Forests or Taiga biomes
