Let's talk about the Cherry Blossom Biome!

There's a brand-new biome coming to Minecraft in update 1.20 - the Cherry Blossom biome. Available to try out now in Java snapshot and coming later to Bedrock preview, this biome is filled with beautiful cherry blossom trees. 

These trees come with a full wood set that is perfect for builders partial to a bit of pink, and you can even plant your own cherry blossom trees using saplings found in the biome. 

As with other 1.20 features, we're still developing and iterating on the cherry blossom biome and would love to hear general thoughts and feedback, as well as how you feel about the new wood set from a visual standpoint.

    The cherry blossom trees should drop cherries from cherry blossom leaves the same way that oak trees can drop apples.

    Instead of pink pedals being farmed by bone-mealing the item itself, instead they could spawn under the tree and within a certain radius of the tree, whenever a cherry tree is grown. This would make sense since they are supposed to be flower pedals, not flowers themselves. The cherry blossom trees themselves could also drop pink pedals when their leaves are broken or decay. 

    Pink pedals could also be placable on water and have their stems removed.

    Hello Minecraft Team, my name is Lauren. I am so ecstatic and excited for this new biome. The colors and aesthetic are so pleasing, everything about it is great. I think we it would be a great idea to add a new fruit like per-say, cherries. We already have two variants of berries and cherries have been overlooked for a while. Just a thought, thank you for your time! Another thought would be a new animal like a hedgehog, , butterflies, porcupine or even koi fish to add to the diversity and environment of this biome. Lastly, possibly even cattails for the ponds and water near here. :)

    More different blocks in the biome, like mossy stone near the tree or part of ancient ruins... Block of copper in the dirt, secret cave with chest, and everything makes a place cozy and interesting to explore! It can interest players to make more trails & will tell a lot of tails.

    Y'all should add fireflies in this update. They would be a good atmospheric feature to the swamp and even the Cherry Grove biome. The frogs do not have to eat the fireflies and just leave them be. I've been playing with mods that have added this feature and it really made night really beautiful instead of scary like it always was. I think this feature would add a lot to the game even if it isn't a lot.

    why I'm not getting update to 1.20?

    White Cherry Leaves

     

    So i really like the new Cherry Bloosom Biome but i think its a little bit too pink.So i would really like it if there where  a few Trees (but not too much) that have chance of spawning with White Cherry Bloosom Leaves instead of the pink ones.

    I made a post about adding some unique music for the cherry blossom biome, to set it aside from other mountain biomes. It's called Add Unique Music for the Cherry Grove.

    Dear Minecraft team, I think with the new cherry blossom biome there should be a cherry blossom village, And with the new village a new villager profession that would be a flower collector, you could trade with them to get new types of rare flowers in the higher levels of the profession and just common flowers in the lower levels of the profession. I hope you see this and consider my idea Minecraft team

    Add cherry blossom village and instead of a blacksmith shop having sword it has a chance to have samurai sword and instead of iron golem add samurai when the samurai dies it has a chance to drop it armor I think it would bring something different than your typical iron golem and having a chance for a samurai sword to spawn in these biomes would have players explore for these more Features for sword maybe give it range of trident and have ways to make it from like iron samurai sword to netherite and when you switch to the item it has a sound like shing on your character it would be mounted on your side even if it was not being used and instead of it hitting like the normal sword it could be swung at angles and maybe giving more damage but it would have to charge up like a bow

    There should be Cherry Blossom villages! Like regular plains villages, but with cherry wood instead of oak. It would be amazing!

    POR FAVOR, não adicionem em pleno 2023 um novo bioma sem vida ao Minecraft. Os desenvolvedores sabem muito bem que os jogadores pedem mais diversidades nos biomas do jogo, e isso não se trata de colocar de maneira exagerada mobs e estruturas neles. Mas sim de trabalhar sua fauna e flora, tornando cada bioma único. E não apenas um local com uma nova árvore com suas madeiras de cor diferente.

    Por isso segue abaixo algumas sugestões para que esse novo bioma que será adicionado, seja não só lindo, mas também incrível:

    - Moolip (uma variação da Moobloom, que só será gerado nesse novo bioma)

    - Carpa colorida (um peixe muito comum do Japão, que só será gerado em pequenos lagos ou riachos que vão existir nesse novo bioma).

    - Arbusto de pétalas rosas (apenas as pétalas rosas que estão no chão não bastam, por favor não façam apenas o mínimo. Não se trata de encher de maneira exagerada o bioma com flores, um novo arbusto já seria suficiente para complementar o bioma)

    It'd be great if bamboo were to generate here. It would fit the theme and it would be a great way to utilize bamboo.

    As well, perhaps a new type of flower (like a lotus or something) would be good for the biome.

    i think it would've been better if cherry blossom biome has it own grass like jungle biome or acacia biome because green grass with pink trees it doesn't match up.

    -I consider that the color of the grass should be of a lighter shade or pastel type.
    -Maybe add cherry blossoms to the cherry blossom trees.
    -I consider adding a generation of foxes with a lighter or pastel fur color.
    -There should be a higher probability of spawning pink sheep in this biome.
    -I think that the appearance of hostile mobs should be reduced in that biome, not disappear, just reduce it, the cherry tree biome has a peaceful personality for me.
    -Maybe adding a hot spring sub-biome in the form of an oasis, would be nice to see in Minecraft and would add more atmosphere to the biome.

    I tried not to suggest any new mobs, blocks or villages in that biome, still I think this would end up adding more beauty to the biome.

    I suggest that cherries are added as there are already cherry trees but not cherries.

    change the color palette of the biome so that it contrasts less with other blocks, now everything looks very bright.

    The corresponding village should match traditional Chinese architecture, possibly even decorated with decorations such as Chinese lanterns, it would be a fun new light source for the trails and tales update.

    The biome is looking fantastic, but I'd like to recommend a few bits of foliage to help add more depth and height to the area, plus they all go with the theme (at least in color of not real world region ✨)

    Plume Grass (it comes in both green and pink varieties and would add interest to the region)

    Camellias (comes in pink, yellow, and red. Would be a great double tall/double wide flower for the region)

    Crown Vetch (comes in pink and yellow and would be the single tall flower for the region)

    And, lastly, Wild Bindweed (it's a type of wood morning glory, white with pale powder pink stripes. It could occasionally grow up the Cherry Blossom Tree. Harvest with Shears, only grows on logs)

    I personally think that cherry planks should have a slightly darker texture and colour so that it isn’t such a stand out block from the rest of all the other blocks. It should also have a different sound when placed, broken, used, or walked on.

    The addition of Koi Ponds. Includes:

    - Koi Fish

    - Lotus Flower (A Lotus Plant)

    A small addition but I believe it can complement the biome really well, with koi ponds sprinkled throughout.
