Let's talk about the Cherry Blossom Biome!

There's a brand-new biome coming to Minecraft in update 1.20 - the Cherry Blossom biome. Available to try out now in Java snapshot and coming later to Bedrock preview, this biome is filled with beautiful cherry blossom trees. 

These trees come with a full wood set that is perfect for builders partial to a bit of pink, and you can even plant your own cherry blossom trees using saplings found in the biome. 

As with other 1.20 features, we're still developing and iterating on the cherry blossom biome and would love to hear general thoughts and feedback, as well as how you feel about the new wood set from a visual standpoint.

    Why not have in this new biome natural ponds with reeds, flowering water lilies and koi carp ?

    Hi I think the cherry blossom biome is great but I have a few tweaks that would improve ambience and creativity so i would have the blossom leaves have a particle affect similar to the spore blossom but have it a mixture of pinks and green but I would have a mechanic similar again to the spore blossom where the particle affects are tied to the biome itself rather than the biome because this would help creativity and ambience also maybe add more foliage what about adding the spore blossom to be more frequent in this biome as well. feel free to expand this idea I just thought It be great for the biome and future builds

    sería muy tierno y lindo que el al bioma el implementarán un nuevo animal que sea de mascota así como en el taigal y bosques están los lobos y en los biomas nevados los zorros y en las cuevas luminosas los ajolotes en del cereza podrían implementar un hurón o que en el bioma haya central un lago con nutrias...osea es que como es un bioma muy tierno y llamativo pues debería tener un pequeño amiguito que sea solo de ese bioma

    I think this biome shouldn't add any other features, or mobs inside, otherwise it would be too unique compared to the other biomes. Despite everything I think the cherry fruit is an obvious addition. Dropped when cherry tree leaves are destroyed.

    I personally don't feel that making cherry groves mountain biomes does it proper justice. You'll most likely be looking up at it due to the biome generating higher up, which means you won't be able to see the pink petals from a distance most of the time. I also feel that the size of the biomes feels too small most of the times I found them. However, I do feel that such a vibrant biome shouldn't be so common either. I think the best solution I can come up with it to make cherry groves generate like old growth taigas, on the ground and only generating past a certain weirdness value to avoid it generating to large.

    Upon playing the snapshot today, i cannot seem to use the fast sprint-like mode on a cherry blossom boat, just wanted to leave that feedback here :)

    I think the leaves in the first update that had cherry blossom leaves were prettier and better than the second update with the cherry blossom leaves

    I think that cherry blossoms should have a variety of colors ranging from white to pink. Like it would be nice if they have a separate color map or something.

    The first thing I did in Creative mode was try to place cherry petals onto the cherry leaves on the tree to give it more depth, and I couldn't do it in 1.19.80.20. Please consider this feature for implementation. Thank you.

    the trees drop wayyyy to many saplings, I chop down one tree and I get 15-20 saplings

    I like the biome a lot but I do think there are a couple features that could make it better. Maybe Bamboo could spawn there along with a new mob like the Red Panda or Koi Fish

    cherry blossom biome is so ugly and stupid i'm removing it with mods because it doesn't deserve to be in a game as good as minecraft.

    I think a pond with koifish would be a good addition, maybe add some new plants surrounding the pond?

    It would make the Cherry Blossom Biome more unique

    Hey Mojang I think the cherry biome will do better with its own colormap (similar to jungle biomes and savannah biomes)with its colormap being more pastel this will really add to the aesthetic

    Remove the stems from the Pink Petals block, they are supposed to be nothing but petals that are laying on the ground, why are they living flowers growing from the ground instead?

    I feel like the trees should be more "sakura" like. I'm not a fan of how the wood is all on one axis, it should be a bit more spread out and I think it would look cool if the leaves at the end were drooping down. With cherry blossom trees, it would be a good addition to add Shoji screens and tatami mats. I think it would fit well with the bamboo blocks shown earlier. The tatami mats would be like carpets, but wouldn't have any voxels on the outer edge and would connect to other tatami. That would give the mats separation between other mats. I've been wanting to make a traditional Japanese house, and those additions would help bring the build more life.

    I think it would be really cute if you could have a little basket or something to collect falling petals in, then you can make art jewelry or other decorations with them. I also had this idea for having a basket and picking berries from bushes into a little basket. I have a lot more ideas.

    It would be a horribly missed opportunity to add the cherry trees and NOT add a cherry drop like apples drop from oak trees. Even if they're just eaten like apples are or turned into a place-able item. The mechanics are already in game, the texture just needs to be created. With a few tweaks to the apples, can easily get cherries!

    hey! i think you should add villages and more variety, maybe water lilies, in the biome since it only has trees and flowers, it makes it kind of disappointing that it doesn't feature new mobs or a village in it. makes it feel kind of bland with only fields of trees and flowers. but the new biome is really pretty!

    I think adding lavender would help the cherry blossom biome by adding in some beautiful contrast. I love the pink petals but some taller, sparsely added lavender would play into a pretty palette of color. This new biome has become my favorite of all time.

    (add birtch trees) Hello there! I really like this new biome, but it would be even better if there was a bit more variation for trees, it dosen’t need to be mutch but maby just some birtch trees scaterd around to make this biome pop even more. Dosen’t need to be birtch maby spruce trees.

    Pink petals should cover half the cherry grove in a noisy pattern rather than everywhere.
