Let's talk about the Cherry Blossom Biome!

There's a brand-new biome coming to Minecraft in update 1.20 - the Cherry Blossom biome. Available to try out now in Java snapshot and coming later to Bedrock preview, this biome is filled with beautiful cherry blossom trees. 

These trees come with a full wood set that is perfect for builders partial to a bit of pink, and you can even plant your own cherry blossom trees using saplings found in the biome. 

As with other 1.20 features, we're still developing and iterating on the cherry blossom biome and would love to hear general thoughts and feedback, as well as how you feel about the new wood set from a visual standpoint.

    I love this biome, and I hope to add a new biome like an oasis and baobab with the new mob and new plants in the desert, savanna, badlands, and birch in this update.

    Love how this biome looks, with as simple as it is right now it already looks amazing. A cherry blossom village would be awesome. A mob specifically for the biome like a new version of the mooshroom or maybe a new type of pig or something. Also making this biome a bit more rare to find like equal to the chances of finding a mushroom island would be great.

    The cherry tree should repel hostile mobs or maybe you can use the petals to create a new potion.

    Hello,
    I am so excited to finally be getting a lighter / pink toned wood variant! I play bedrock (Xbox) and have long envied the Java mods that provide this as an option - can not wait to try this out in my builds when it is released - please please please do not change the colour - I love it!!
    If you could add a white cherry blossom version (in addition) that gave us a whiter wood texture it would bring a warmth to the lighter builds (for eg quartz builds) that the current wood palette doesn’t allow.

    There should be a light and dark variant of the cherry tree. Like oak and dark oak. Here is why:

    The wood is too pink, which might limit its usage. Real cherry wood is either darker (more red or brown) or less pink.

    The wood should gravitate more towards the current birch or mangrove color. Right now, its in an awkward middle of both not light enough and not dark enough.

    A lot of people are complaining about the leaves.

    The problem is the pink flowers are not obvious on the leaf texture.

    Cherry blossoms only have flowers when they blossom! Currently, the texture has three flowers on each side and a pink and green background (why?), so remove the pink and green background.

    Additionally, the flowers are too big at 7 pixels wide. Make them a similar size to azalea flowers at three pixels wide (a maroon dot for a stigma in in the middle, with 4 light pink pixels around it as petals). So smaller, but more abundant flowers. This would also solve the issue that the leaves look tiled, since the big flowers make the patter look obvious.

    Tldr, smaller, but more flowers on leaf texture. make the flowers popout more by removing the pink and green leaves.

    I honestly don’t have all that much to say, though I do have a few suggestions:

    1. Please change the cherry blossom leaf texture to have more opaque pixels. They feel very solid, which makes the canopies in the biome very clumpy and stilted at times.

    2. Maybe introduce a 2 block tall version of the pink petals? I get that the whole point of the petals is that they work like candles or turtle eggs, being able to have 4 in a block. Still, I’d make the biome more full.

    personally i think the cherry grove is a really nice biome that adds some needed contrast, but the floors of it seem a bit empty. i just thought it would be nice if there was maybe some more foliage or a new pink 2 block tall flower. i just think it needs just a bit more.

    I think what this biome needs is two things (Butterflies) and (more flowers)

    for the flowers I think it just needs the white and pink tulips 

    for the butterflies I think it would be a great feature to make it feel complete they could be small about the size of a tropical fish and also have colour variations also like tropical fish they could rest on flowers and tree logs and I think it would just be nice to have a flying mob just for ambience

    I think that the ground and the leaves in this biome feel quite incongruent, and adding some darker colours to the underbrush may be best. Say add some bushes, you could use dark oak leaves, very simple shapes. I think it would make it much more visually appealing. or perhaps a darker grass colour, the dark wood going into the vibrant grass is akward to look at

    Hello dear developers. I think the cherry biome should be called the sakura biome. Also, the sakura biome should be located next to the bamboo biome, where you can make bamboo buildings and grow sakura, this can be compared with Japan, the perfect combination.

    Hi guys. I have an idea. In Paraguay we had Lapacho Trees. That tree can have 3 diferent flower color: white, pink and yellow. If you add that tree you can use the same wood with diferent florwer blocks, so is like you have 3 diferent trees as 1. That way you will have more colors. I send you a huge hug from Paraguay <3

    I think it would be great if we got a new type of flower? Maybe a short purple flower that gives us purple dye. Jacaranda trees or Wisteria vines might be nice too to give more contrast to the pink.

    Many people think the Biom is to bland/boring/empty, and i am one of them.
    There are already so many good suggestions to make make it abit better, and i would like to add 2 more.
    1. Ponds and Lakes
    The biom has a new shade of water, but even in big Cherry Blossom i didn't encounter any water.
    There are many valleys, ups in downs in the Cherry Blossom Biom, but so far i didn't see any filled with water.
    Such lake could also contain a small "island" with 1 or 2 trees on them.
    2. Variaty in plants
    So with the addition of water (from point 1)
    - Sugar cane, Lily Pads, maybe very rare bamboo
    - Pink Petals should vary abit more in hight (up to half a block)

    Can you guys just add 🍒Cherry to Cherry blossom biome in Minecraft 1.20 .
    It will be a cool idea players will get a new food item Cherry 🍒.
    And if players break the leaves of Cherry trees cherries will drop on ground like apples on oak trees. Please add it to MINECRAFT 1.20 .

    Hello there, I suggest taking out the green color in the Cherry leaves texture as there is are no leaves ones the cherry flower is grown as it is in real life

    Hello Mojang, od there are cherry biome then why font you add cherries into Minecraft, because the fruit im Minecraft is only Apple and watermelon

    I think that koi fish being added to this biome would be a really cool idea! Like it would be like an exclusive type of fish, like tropical fish are to warmer ocean biomes. I know the community has been asking for koi fish, and mods are indeed out there for them, but I think this would honestly be the perfect time to add them for real into the game itself. Plus it would give players all the more reason to find the biome, for the newest fish type!

    I think it would be awesome if there were red bolssom tree in jungles and savannah, like the flamboyant tree (delonix regia). this tree is originated from madascar, and grows in all the tropical forests in america and africa, but also in india and south-east asia, and it grows also in drier conditions like savannah, in the sahel, etc, were it gives shadow and it can be found along sideways.

    I think changing the color of the blossom in this biome would add nice colour, but may be this tree could be added as a new tree. 

    I hope you will introduce this idea in the game.

    I don't know if it's intentional or just an overlook, but there is no cherry blossom chest (and mangrove didn't have one either). Every other wood type has one, even the nether ones! I think there could be some great designs for them and the items for each wood type should be consistent :) 

    Also the grass colour isn't really doing justice to the pink colours, maybe something more pastel would be more complimentary. 

    I agree with other people here that a new mob would give a LOT to this biome. We all still want to live our moobloom dreams ♥ :D
