Let's talk about the Cherry Blossom Biome!

There's a brand-new biome coming to Minecraft in update 1.20 - the Cherry Blossom biome. Available to try out now in Java snapshot and coming later to Bedrock preview, this biome is filled with beautiful cherry blossom trees. 

These trees come with a full wood set that is perfect for builders partial to a bit of pink, and you can even plant your own cherry blossom trees using saplings found in the biome. 

As with other 1.20 features, we're still developing and iterating on the cherry blossom biome and would love to hear general thoughts and feedback, as well as how you feel about the new wood set from a visual standpoint.

    Just a little Idea...
    so, the same way jungle and sprues tree saplings can be placed in a 2 by 2 format making a larger tree. I feel like the cherry tree can do the same thing with big and dramatic type of trees. I Think it would make for great builds and might look good putting 1 or 2 in the Cherry Blossom and doesn't need it's own Biome!

    the trees.. needs to be more ... transparent and more pinky-red-ish... other than that, the whole update is awesome.

    Hello! It looks really good, but could the Cherry Blossom leaves have more holes in the block? It looks kind of blocky and solid in my opinion, unlike the other leaves. Thank you for letting us give our feedback!

    Love the idea of Cherry Blossom biome, hope it'll be a peaceful biome with no hostile mobs.

    Sheep are one of the few mobs that spawn here. Currently sheep have a rare 0.164% chance to naturally spawn as pink. Could this be drastically increased in Cherry Blossom biomes please? Personally I think non pink sheep should all be white, as the dark coloured ones don't fit the vibe as well.

    The grass needs to be a darker shade!

    I believe the Cherry blossom Trees look as if they have been copied and pasted onto the grass texture. It gives a sort of jarring feel to it as you enter the new biome. A darker shade would look more cosy or even the use of Moss! 

    But overall great new biome, loving the new announcements!!

    The texture of the cherry blossom biome feels out of place at the moment, it's very desaturated lending this look of "Baby's Third Minecraft Mod" and generally doesn't look as good as it could. Perhaps also change generation slightly?

    Since this is a cherry blossom biome, we can have cherry fruits added as well... 

    And sadly spring didn't encounter the whole year.

    Generational structures in the cherry blossom that include fountains and shrines maybe? Perhaps not shrines, as the cultural relevance thing could but worrying, but old fountains would be nice! This deep, magical feeling coming from entering the biome should be added. Imagine wandering around the biome at night only to find this slightly illuminated, absolutely gorgeous little fountain... that'd be lovely!

    I really love this new wood set. It’s an I credible addition to the game. However, upon playing with the blocks themselves I find the textures to be a bit jarring and little too vivid. The contrast between the pink wood and the bark is very clashy. Other than that, the blocks are great! I love the sounds they make as well :)

    Will the new Cherry Grove biome also come with a new villager clothing variant similar to how it is done in the Jungle and Swamp biomes?

    Thanks u all for the cool new update ideas. They are great. I have one suggestion about chest. I wish they can be crafted like other wood items for example colorfull boat, because chest got only 1 look and color but we have lots of wood to make another design and color too. I hope we can see pink chest in the future.

    Cherry leaves should have a chance of dropping a new small food item , called cherry . Adding this item should open up some amazing possibilities such as new food recipes or perhaps even a new potion recipe in the future.

    I think this biome is already gorgeous. but if you want to make it more unique (because it's rare) then add:
    1) New mob that only spawns there. ( something like Hedgehog from Minecraft Dungeons or butterfly/month or new type of bees)
    2) Another Plant in biom ( like tall flower or smth)
    3) Chinese/Japan lost  little town or  just few houses (like stone houses overgrown with plants)
    4) And maybe some particles to like little cherry blossom flowers 
    5)japan/chinese villager texture

    This new biome is really cool. It'd be cool though if y’all added a new type of food made from cherry blossoms though. Like cherry blossom cakes or even cherry blossom tea.
    Maybe they could even give you a tiny amount of the regenerative effect!

    Breaking up the cherry leaves texture a bit with a few missing pixels would help the leaves blend together a lot better, and having them drop cherries on occasion how oak drops apples would be a great touch. The cherries could be used to make a new cherry pie, jam cake etc food item.

    Adding a unique mob to this biome would really help with its identity, perhaps a moobloom like mob designed around the cherry blossom, deer or butterflies?

    Giving the biome a more unique grass colour would also help with identity.

    Please make foxes spawn there. It would really add to the atmosphere since foxes(狐) along with cherry blossoms(桜) are all essential to the Japanese culture. Also, foxes spawn in the grove biome, so it would make more sense if they spawn in the cherry grove biome as well.

    Hello mojang last year you said you wouldn't put fireflies for 1.19 so why not put them for 1.20 in this new cherry blossom biome and in brich forest ,just let they will just fly and we could also catch them with a bottle for craft a special animated lantern with the fireflies or just put they in our garden.

    And you can add cherry to.

    Can this cherry blossom biome have more going on I love the atmosphere it gives to the game 10/10 I just with that something could be added to the biome like ponds a village or a new structure to break up the forest a little bit! To give it some character and that the ponds could spawn with a new type of fish from Chinese culture like koi, gold fish etc I would love this look to the cherry blossom biome the pond could have a new type of plant and could spawn with corals, plants, fish, lily pads, flowers, and maybe put the alley in this biome with the moo bloom I feel that the moo bloom had potential and could have made a big impact on Minecraft I just love this biome and has a lot of potential I would also would like a fairy added

    • Dude the biome is very beautiful. So I don't want this biome to be so empty. So here are some ideas of mine that maybe you guys could add to the game.
    • First, maybe a mob that can only be specific to this biome (or several), mobs that you only find in this biome. One of the mobs that came to my mind would be Moobloom (that mob that lost the mob voting in 2020) because I think it would be a perfect opportunity to add it
    • Second, another idea that came to me is that since normal trees drop apples, these trees could drop a new fruit.
    • Third, one thing I wanted too is some new grass. Well, a new grass that gives this biome a highlight (maybe a kind of pink grass, but that could highlight the grasses that are on the ground).

    I am happy with the addition of this new cherry tree, it looks very beautiful. But the cherries are missing. And since it refers to an oriental theme, this biome could have some lakes that spawn carp exclusive to this biome. And taking advantage of the theme, they could add a new craft of oriental lanterns for lighting.

    I think that in this certain biome we could have some variants of trees like the eucalyptus tree with the pink leaves would be a great addition and would make the biome more complete

    Love the new biome but I think that the planks are just to pink. I think it would be better if it was darker and more saturated.
