Let's talk about the Cherry Blossom Biome!

There's a brand-new biome coming to Minecraft in update 1.20 - the Cherry Blossom biome. Available to try out now in Java snapshot and coming later to Bedrock preview, this biome is filled with beautiful cherry blossom trees. 

These trees come with a full wood set that is perfect for builders partial to a bit of pink, and you can even plant your own cherry blossom trees using saplings found in the biome. 

As with other 1.20 features, we're still developing and iterating on the cherry blossom biome and would love to hear general thoughts and feedback, as well as how you feel about the new wood set from a visual standpoint.

    This feels obvious, but cherry trees imply cherries, no?  Are we getting them as a fruit in the game?  Craftable into cherry pie perhaps?

    When breaking cherry blossom leaves, there should be a chance to get cherries instead of apples.

    The biome is currently really just the trees, and that does work for the mountains, but for a stand alone "new biome" they just need a little more plants, and that can be done with out any new blocks or plants. Bamboo, moss, lilacs, or other tall flowers, and more terrain such as moss/cobble boulders, course dirt, and especially snow as the biome's both in the mountains, and in real life cherry trees grow in cold weather.

    I like the detail of the pink petals.

    Weirdly, all the flower stems are facing down.

    It looks like these flowers are growing from the ground.

    A lighter and vivid green color for Grass in cherry blossom biome
    like other biomes they have their custom color of grass, it would look very aesthetic and cute if in the cherry blossom biome the grass was a lighter and more vivid green color

    Make the new Pink Petals block slowly accumulate on the ground (like snow does) under Cherry blossom leaf blocks (the cherry blossom leaf block has to be at most 12 blocks above any surface including water for the Pink Petals block to appear).

    The leaves should be a bit more transparent, otherwise the area can get a bit dark underneath the trees. Maybe you could add some wisteria to this biome, to add to the pink theme. Maybe pink sheep should spawn here more frequently.

    Hear me out... I know people really want the chances of pink sheep spawning to go up but...

    What if, there was a chance of sheep eating a flower and turning that color (maybe 10%?), due to the effect of the cherry blossom particles floating around?!?

    I say the texture for the cherry blossom leave texture could be better

    The grass needs to be changed to a colour that matches the trees, otherwise everything will look very out of place.

    Hi! Im super happy that cherry blossoms are being added to the game, but please could you change the grass to a lighter tone? and personally, the leaves would look much better without the specks of green in them. Thank you so much 💕

    It's a very beautiful biome. But it would be cool if it's larger and has a different grass colour. Maybe even some cool new mobs :)

    Precisamos de mais animais no bioma cerejeira, seria bom se fosse novos mobs, e seria bom que no bioma cerejeira aparecesse mais a ovelha rosa, ou então ela poderia aparecer só lá, e nenhum mais lugar.

    I think that the grass colour should on this biome be slightly changed to brighter. I'd also add more flowers to it, along with a higher chance of a sheep spawn which isn't white.

    Finally some pink wood! It would be nice if the falling petals moved sligntly to the side as if they were moved by the wind

    I'd like to see cherries spawn from the leaves sometimes when despawning. Because we haven't had fruit from a tree since oak gave us apples.

    Cherry blossom is great but i feel like grass doesn't seem very well with Cherry blossom tree.

    I have some ideas that would make this biome more lively:

    • Some more mobs in this biome would be amazing! Like butterflies! Then you could add like a bug net that you can use to catch them. The bug net could also be used for catching bees maybe. It could work like a bucket of fish :) I would love to make a big butterfly house with loads of flowers and colourful butterflies!
    • A different coloured grass or a new grass type would also be amazing to make it look more cohesive. Also add a variation of trees in the biome. A diverse forest is a healthy forest. A monoculture forest looks un-natural and is not realistic to have as a naturally formed forest. 
    • Also, are you adding cherries as well? We need more types of food! I want a cherry pie! while you're at it, add apple pie as well!

    I am loving the new blocks and biome! One thing that keeps bugging me is just how... flat the cherry planks look compared to the other wood types. It's got this unnaturally smooth vibe. It needs a bit more depth in order to flow smoothly with other wood planks.

    Happy with the cherry biome but I personally would change the cherry leaves, not a fan of the green in the leaves don't see the point of them and why are the leaves so thick? Mangrove leaves aren't even so thick as the cherry leaves. So would be happy if we could see through the leaves little more and the green parts be removed

    Hello devs
    I love the new cherry grove biome but I think the leve texture is a tad too full making it look a bit les like a leaf block and the green pixels are somewhat jaring in between all the pink

    The biome sometimes spawns only one tree and a few flowers, I don't mind it being rare but at least the zone of the biome be larger

    The Cherry Blossom Biome is an awesome idea and im lovin it.

    But it feels a bit empty without its own kind of mob, say butterflies.

    The Butterflies could be a wonderful add on and will make the cherry blossom biome more interactive.

    also changing the grass around the biome would be better as the green color dosen't really match the biome's color.

    So if possible try to add these and this would be loved by the community i feel

    Villagers with Japanese/Asian skin, maybe a village or structure for the biome.

    The biome is great but if the wandering trader gives us the sappling and the flowers there is no point in exploring to find it, a new type of village with a Japanese theme or simply new skins for the villagers as in the jungle or swamp would add a reason to find the biome.
