I only have two observations regarding the new biome:

    • The grass should have a more suitable color for that biome, I'm not saying they should make it pink like the leaves on the trees, but it would be nice if it had a distinction over the rest.
    • What is the possibility that when breaking the leaves of the tree it drops cherries, a new fruit in MC like the apple in the oak

Id love to see a cherry grove clearing sub-biome, like the sparse jungle! Just a small area of the grove that spawns without trees, it would give some very welcome variation ^-^

Despite the new foliage, the ground in this biome seems rather plain. I think petal blocks that act similarly to podzol with spruce trees could help remedy this. Maybe these blocks spawn naturally under naturally generated cherry blossom trees, but can form over time under manually placed cherry blossom leaf blocks, possibly with stages of petal coverage.

Some japanese structures such as Torii would be awesome.

Since cherry blossoms are added, you might as well add cherries in. They obviously should be edible and craftable into red dye. You may also have the ability to use the grindstone on cherries to get a cherry pit. The cherry pit, once eaten, should give you poison, nauseous, and blindness. This will leave you at half a heart. If you are not eating them, you may use them to make a poisonous poition and poison arrows(or something else!).

    I love this.
But I think I would be cool if there was a mob that you could only find in that biome I think that would be amazing.

Hot Springs As Biome Exclusive Structure - A new type of water that can heal you and remove only negative effects. You can take it with a bucket but, unlike normal water, it cannot be infinite. It would be rare to find, maybe under some trees to make more difficult.

A new structure, a new fluid, (and maybe a new particle?) definitely a good reason to explore this biome.

Hello I really like new biome I think it needs cherries as an food item similiar to apples that would drop occasionally from leaves. It's small addition but it would be a missed opportunity to not add them.

I love this biome and all that it contains, but I have a few suggestions! The first one is that when it is raining or snowing in other biomes, in the Cherry Grove it's a cherry storm! Pink blossoms would collect on the ground like snow, and would group up to four like they do upon natural generation or when placing them myself. I think it would be a great way to get more of the adorable pink blossoms in the early game, without spending several nights skelly hunting.
I also love the way the logs and planks look! They pair super well with birch, and make adorable Japanese styled houses. I would like to be able to craft campfires with them, because with all the bees in the forest it takes a few to use them as a reliable food source.

Maybe this would be a good time to implement the MooBlooms? Imagine a cute pink cow roaming the past the cherry blossom trees! So cute 🥰

Piggybacking off some other comments here:
With the introduction of the cherry plank set (and bamboo, both with eastern influences), it would be cool to have new decorative construction blocks based on eastern architecture:
Japanese-style sliding door (another commenters' idea), would be the first 2x2 door block (or a 1x2 door that opens into the block to the right, ignoring collision, but closing it could become a problem)

Cherry wood columns (like a single placed wall that wouldnt extend to other columns) would lend very well to temple-style builds

Maybe some carved trim blocks as well, like "battlement"-shaped blocks. (Picture the bottom trim on those stacked temples)

Make the cherry wood button double-sized as a more unique accent piece

Cherry wood to make "carvings", would be like a new set of "paintings" but would be wood carvings instead, rendered so some featurew protrude more than others. They'd be made of 3 different shades: one is constant, one can be changed to other wood textures by "placing" a plank like it was an item frame, and the last could be "gilded" with metal ingots in the same manner.

Sorry for the essay. Also I'm sorry if 'temple' is the wrong word for the architecture im describing, maybe i shouldve said 'mulans house'

The cherry tree leaves should be a more vibrant pink with less white pixels and without those green leaves in the middle. I also think that this biome could generate at different heights besides the mountains, it could have lakes and the petals would float on the waters. It would also be interesting if it was possible to find bamboos, podzol and pandas in this biome (i like the moolips idea too).

I feel like a new mob native to this biome, such as cardinals or blue-jays would be great! Other than that, I’m all for this!

The cherry grove is very beautiful and reasonably uncommon, though a few tweaks could make it even better:

I think instead of cherry leaves emitting particles themselves, there should be a new leaf block that emits pink leaf particles, similar to spore blossoms.

I would also love to see more flowers in the grove, including lilacs, peonies, pink tulips, red tulips, white tulips, and lily of the valley.

Lastly, the cherry leaves seem a bit too much like solid blocks. They should still be thick, but perhaps take off one or two pixels.

Endermans should be more common than the other hostile mobs in this biome, their purple particles totally fit with the pink leaves and gives it an "japanese demon" vibes.

Would be cool if cherries could be found from the leaves of cherry trees, similar to apples in oak trees :D

Will the trees drop cherries like how Oak Trees drop apples? If not, adding charries to the game and having them drop from the new tree would be a nice added detail that would be cool to see! Also I like the idea of the new area, it adds more asthetic to the game!

I dont know how you guys manage to transform a old and incredible concept as cherry blossom biome in such a... lackluster experience.

    • Has been years since players make content around pink leaves. Resource packs, mods.
    • Mods that has biomes with pink leaves, essentially makes the place an incredieble visual experience.
    • However, even the mods did not created an practical experience. Leaving the concept to be only asthetical.

With this in mind, is surprising that mojang manage to make the concept plain and boring.

    • There's nothing special about the biome. It's only a block and items repository. You go there, collect some of each item, then go. Nothing much to see, nothing much to do, nothing to explore. Could be fixed by giving us something special and unique to do here. Something that can only be done here.
    • The biome lacks variety. All the petals on the ground makes for a beautiful and different place, but, is also repetitive. Could be fixed by adding a new vegetation that appear less, some brown tall grass or something.

    But there are good things:

    • Mojang's version of pink leaves are the absolute best. Aesthetically, the individual components and trees rule over any other version that has been done before.
    • The wood set is perfect.

Extra: Why lush caves worked, and cherry blossom groove didnt?

    • Because lush caves functions like a corridor. You explore them, feel the incredieble atmosphere, and go. They ARE the cave. You MUST pass through. This is their function. Doest apply to cherry biome.

Another problem: For a biome that offer almost nothing new(apart from the pink wood), you need to put effort to reach it.

Compare the biome with mangroove swamp: You find one, take what you need, feel the atmosphere and go. But the cherry blossom groove, you doest just GO there. You have to climb. Is and actual effort. And effort with a basic reward.

Another comparison is the mountain biomes. You go there not to gather blocks and items, but because the geography itself. The geography IS the biome.

To fix this, we need to create a good and unique reward, that fits the biome.

It can be an experience, but should be something practical too. Maybe:

    •  The particles gives you and unique effect, and you can use itens find in excavation sites in the cherry groove to create an beacon-like block that gives you that effect.
    • Unique enchantments that can only be found there(In the enchanting table)
    • Unique new mob
    • Unique new ground

Honestly... I'm not a major fan of the texture of the planks. I think it looks a bit too simple compared to how textured the other planks are. Otherwise, a really fun addition!

Grass blocks should take on a more vibrant green in Cherry Blossom biomes - I feel the dark green takes away from the beauty a little bit!

In my opinion, the ground of the biome it`s a bit empty, only grass and petals, I think that some ferns or flowers of pink colors already existing in the game would make the landscape more varied.

First, I'm really happy to see the long-awaited cherry blossoms in Minecraft! Thank you so much!

However, in 23w07a I feel it is strange that they have leaves and blossoms at the same time. Japanese cherry blossoms, especially the most popular one for appreciation (Prunus × yedoensis 'Somei-yoshino'), bloom in early spring before they make leaves. It is one of the reasons why they are beautiful, and I feel the texture is wrong in that they have green while they are in bloom.

I hope the green of the "cherry leaves" texture will be erased. Also, you might as well change its name to "cherry blossom block" if possible.

A new biome!!! So exciting! The Cherry Blossom Biome is beautiful to look at, and I'm very happy it's finally here. To disagree with other commenters, I believe the leaves and wood is lovely as it is, and adding multiple variants of it may become clunky and mottled, as no other trees have differing variety in their look except for shape. I believe the grass color is very pretty and has a nice soft yellow tint, very lush looking! I do like the thought of the terrain having some nice small hills or peaking ledges/overhangs, or spawn nicely on the steeper uphills of mountains alongside the upper plains, but I understand that may be hard to code!

The wood coloring is gorgeous, both the delicate pink planks and pretty purple hue of the bark, and they match so lovely with snow! Although, perhaps the Door/Trapdoor could have a more noticeable outline? They blend it very easily, especially the trapdoor, as beautiful as it is.

I will say the biome does feel a touch empty, however the particles and new flowers fill it in well! I like the thought of more sheep spawns, or maybe even more white rabbits alongside those lovely bees! Cherries and New Mooblooms are a wistful fantasy, but Lilacs and Peony fit nicely, so maybe they could spawn around trees? Overall I just can't wait to see my cute Sniffer friends frolicking in this lovely biome!!

Maybe change the green spot on the leaves to a more subtle or even a darkish purple.

I think a small but neat feature that could be added to the cherry blossom biome is the addition of marimo moss. In real life, marimo are small spherical mosses that grow at the bottom of ponds and slow moving rivers, near where cherry blossoms also grow. In game, they should function like sea pickles, being able to put up to four of them inside of a single block area. Bone mealing them should allow you to get an extra piece of moss, sort of like how bone mealing two block high flowers function. I think it would also appeal to the developer team's idea of "bringing awareness to endangered species". Just like the axolotl, their populations are declining in the wild due to pollution, yet are common aquarium pets.
