Let's talk about the Cherry Blossom Biome!

There's a brand-new biome coming to Minecraft in update 1.20 - the Cherry Blossom biome. Available to try out now in Java snapshot and coming later to Bedrock preview, this biome is filled with beautiful cherry blossom trees. 

These trees come with a full wood set that is perfect for builders partial to a bit of pink, and you can even plant your own cherry blossom trees using saplings found in the biome. 

As with other 1.20 features, we're still developing and iterating on the cherry blossom biome and would love to hear general thoughts and feedback, as well as how you feel about the new wood set from a visual standpoint.

    I have some ideas for this new cherry blossom biome:

    • A new type of village, made out of new cherry and bamboo blocks, and with villagers wearing a kimono.
    • Bamboo can spawn naturally in cherry blossom biome, over than in jungles, but is more rare.
    • Cherry blossom can now drop cherries, like apples from oak.
    • A new cake, the black forest cake, made with cherries and cocoa beans.
    • Golden cherries, crafted by surrownding a cherry with gold ingot, which doesn't gives any effect but can extend any positive effect the player already has of 1 minute when eaten, and it also can be used to cure zombified piglins.

    You could make white variants of cherry blossom, that will grow from the same sapling since there are white cherry blossom variants.

    Origins realms server has wisteria trees, and wisteria trees have a type of leaf that is not blocky, and spawns under other leaves to give wisteria effect. Since some cherry trees have 1-2 leaves drooping down, these could be nice instead of leaves. https://originrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Wisteria_Wood 

    I think the cherry trees are a bit too big and bulky. This is a realism vs minecraft issue because its about aesthetic and gameplay, but still even if its not the reality there should be smaller trees. Here there is a tree I custom made: https://ibb.co/SnLr9pH 

    Also about particles, as I can see everyone wants particles to be like leaves or petals, I think particles will be so big if its like petals. But at least it could be more like spore blossom particles and less like honey particles (look on the ground) image: https://ibb.co/x7s0p6K

    I think so far the biome as a whole has a good base, but it feels extremely empty for how much potential it has. What we got so far is truly great especially those directional petal flowers they allow for some great and unique building tricks.

    My suggestions and feedback:

    1. The tree shape.
    Its really clunky to me, it feels very rough and sometimes from above when you have a wide tree it tends to look as if you grew 3 trees and stuck them together instead of a singular large tree.
    2.The lack of generational features.
    The biome feels super bland and to spruce it up would be adding bamboo, ponds and perhaps some more flowers in there so make it feel more lush and colorful. Preferably some non pink flower just to break up the colors like the rosebushes would fit there fairly well i think. 
    3.The woodset.
    I have a few problems with this, starting off with the design of the door and trapdoor, they have different patterns than one another, I think they should both use the same crisscross patern. The sound design is very odd to me as it is different from every other woodset yet all the other woodsets use the same sound design, i think you guys really should update old sounds aswell to make everything more inlign with each other. and finally the colorpalette itself for the planks/wood, i think its too low contrast especially on the lines inbetween the planks which gives it a washed out and flat look that doesnt look that pleasing personally speaking.

    PS: Add a redpanda!! And cherries

    I really love the Biom!
    But I read on Youtube that the Trees have Cherrys, which would be a great addition.
    Also in the Comment the Idea was shared to be able to craft Heart Cookies with the cherrys.
    Really love the Idea!

    Hey, team! Here’s some things I’ve thought of and seen discussed online that could be used to alter the Cherry Grove!

    One thing I’ve seen a lot online and agree with that atm the biome feels a lot like just a plains with pink trees on top! The petals and particles do help aid that however. But How do we fix that?

    • A lighter/unique grass shade variant that accentuates trees.
    • A pink/lighter water tint too? Petals should be able to be placed on water too as if they are floating!
    • More foliage and flowers, to create more variation? Possibly bamboo?
    • A pond feature, spawned with drip leaves, clay or sand, like in Lush Caves. Most Sakuras are found near water I believe and could add a lot!
    • Tree design is too flat atm, could resemble sapling better.
    • Changing petal particle to look more like falling leaves

    Other suggestions I’ve seen include:
    • Unique mob, like the Moobloom?
    • New fruit bush, could make new food, pie, cake or stew?
    • White variant of cherry trees, would add more variation to biome and give players a white leaf block! Great for snowy builds.
    • New structure or village?
    • Mossy cobble cave feature with water running through?

    I really like the colour of the wood, and the new petal carpet! The fact that it stacks like a sea pickle or candle is really cool! And adds a lot to the biome

    I personally think the cherry leaves need a bit of change, in my eyes they seem a bit too blocky and "solid" compared to the other leaves, also, i think the colors need a bit more variation

    I really like the new cherry blossom biome, it looks very nice. I would love if Mojang would make other standard Minecraft biomes as lush as the new ones. One suggestion to the standard forest biome would be dead trees with those tablelike mushrooms growing on the side. And what about leafpiles on the ground? Additionally what I really miss about Minecraft is chirping birds. It fits so well and would add so much to the atmosphere.

    The color of the grass should be darker to create contrast with the brightly colored leaves and flowers, like the dark oak forest.

    My main two feedbacks are as follows:
    1. Despite what the devs said on the MCA Discord, I believe ponds would fit extremely well in this biome. As would the often suggested bamboo shoots / mossy boulders.

    2. The leaf particles should be able to go through a half slab! It lets builders have more control over where they can have the pink particles drip.

    A small structure. Any would work, but here's a suggestion. The ruined shrine could spawn. It wouldn't be much, perhaps a few scattered stone blocks with a well of water and a chest around, but it would help liven the biome!

    I think maple forests are also great, because so far, only cherry blossom groves have the different colored leaves, the other kind of trees all have green leaves, it is hard to distinguish them. Maple trees have red leaves, it might be more colorful if you add them into the game.

    Add cherries, even if they are about as good as berries. Cherries just make sense, also u should add small groups of bamboo to this biome to make it feel less dead. And please make it spawn lower on the ground, i want to build a pink house by a river/pond

    The look of the wood set is fantastic! As for the biome, it feels a bit empty at the moment. Some suggestions for it to feel more full of life;

    • More flora (Restricted to pink & white colors, OR inspired by Eastern Asia flora where cherry blossoms are native). Also, for a biome called a Cherry Grove, it ought to be filled with Cherries I think!
    • Two different leaf types; Pink & White. (When cherry saplings grow there is a 50/50 chance of it being grown either with pink or white leaf type variant.)
    • Unique mob or mob features. EX; Pink sheep, Sakura Moobloom, Pink Moolip, etc. I'd also like to suggest, foxes are not only very beautiful color against the pink but are also quite prevalent in Asia!
    • Unique grass color. I have seen some people suggest a lighter green, but I also like the idea of golden grass against the pink flowers. I feel it'd give a magical vibe to it, even if unrealistic! 

    Overall really promising so far, it just needs more features to feel more full! Thank you so much Mojang. 🌸🌸🌸

    Hello Minecraft team the biome if u haven't already should spawn a structure like a Chinese temple or a Chinese town which spawns some chests with good stuff and also make this like uncommon

    There should be bigger variants of the Cherry Blossom Tree and new animals that live in that Biome in real life.

    They should add a new type of carpet. The cherry blossom carpet. Well it would generate at the bottom of Cherry blossom trees to make it look like the leaves fell from the tree.

    I definitely think the cherry blossom doors should resemble Shōji doors. That would look gorgeous. Also, I feel like the biome is a little empty...a new cow mob maybe would fit there...a moobloom if you will. Or maybe even a new flying mob. Good time to add fireflies honestly.

    Looks beautiful otherwise.

    An increased chance of a pink sheep spawning in a biome would be nice.
