    Dear developers, the sniffer is a very cool and interesting mob. But at the moment, his flower is not needed. Please make his flower useful!

    Make it so that the sniffer can dig up a new exclusive type of tree, which does not give new seedlings when destroyed, so that it makes sense to constantly interact with the sniffer to get new copies of this tree

    The Sniffers teeth would be used to craft the brush because it uses its mouth to dig. and teeth would not drop on death, it would drop after an amount of digs.

    Я предлагаю идею для получения семян с помощью нового моба! Это семена древнего  арбуза, из них вырастает дикий/древний арбуз. Арбуз можно сделать дикорацией на грядки, новый краситель, сахар, из его коры можно сделать, например, кольчужно-арбузные поножи, которые будут помогать вам против мобов с шипами. Если этот арбуз съесть то можно получить  эффект отравления голода или новый эффект "муть" из-за него вам будет плохо когда вы смотрите вверх ведь все блоки начинают как будто сплющиваться. Так же кору дикого арбуза можно добавить к оптёсанным  брёвнам и они будут служить таким же красивым декором. Расти дикий арбуз будет так же, как и обычный, но будет другая текстура и желтые цветы на саженце арбуза.

    sniffer eggs need to be block specific when it comes to hatching, so they can actually be viable in building like turtle eggs

    Sniffers could dig up pitcher pods from podzol and new glowing mushrooms from mycelium. All other soil types provide the torchflower.

    The only criticism that I have of the sniffer is that of the sniffer egg item model. It would look a lot better and it would make more sense (for such a huge object) to have a 3d model. The 2d model works fine for turtle eggs, but having what looks like a small flat item and then placing it down as this huge egg feels strange and awkward. Not to mention that diagonal textures almost never look good.

    Sniffers need to actually place down eggs after breeding, requiring a solid block underneath in order to hatch.

    Hi There!!

    The Sniffer looks and feels amazing especially with the latest updated snapshot that recently came out however I do need to express some concern.

    The mechanic to find new and interesting plants in incredible and seeing the new pitcher plant has me so excited for the future of what has become my favourite feature. This is a fantastic way to add more plants to the game without over cluttering biomes however 2 (I know a third plant has apparently been leaked) is nowhere near enough. Getting the sniffer is a fair amount of effort from the player, not only do you have to go out searching for the location to find the sniffer egg but we still might not even have a chance to get one if we happen to be unlucky in the dig site we come across. Now this is all fine, my friends and I are personally looking forward to the adventure of finding a sniffer but all of that effort needs to be rewarded with a lot more than 2 (3) plants.

    I think on release of the sniffer we need at least 4-6 plants at minimum followed by adding a few more plants to this feature in the future. The sniffer opens up so much opportunity for decoration, world building and objective in the game and it would be a shame to see only 3 plants followed by never updating this feature again. Please Mojang keep expanding the Sniffer's plant roster so we can create amazing prehistoric gardens and add these brilliant unique flowers to our builds.

    The new sniffer egg model looks great, but I would recommend changing the old dragon egg model to better fit in with the more blocky design of the sniffer egg. The two models just don't look right next to each other and the art direction is rather inconsistent.

    Shape of the sniffer egg is a little offputting. There's a considerable lack of cohesion with it compared to the Dragon egg. It makes sense for something like the turtle egg to not be very detailed since it's small, but the sniffer's is nearly the same size as the Dragon's but is a perfect prism. Of course I don't think you should reskin the Dragon egg for it (and ESPECIALLY not change the Dragon egg model to fit the sniffer's) but adding a bit of shape to it would make it feel more in place and more important. After all you're de-extincting an ancient creature, I'd think you'd want that to be very important feeling.

    The sniffer should be able to eat both torchbflowers, pitcher plants, and any other ancient plant that it digs up. Breeding with torchflowers only is ok and adds an element of chance to sniffer breeding and care. It also ensures that the more sniffers you have the easier sniffer breeding will be. Hopefully we will see some use for pitcher plants like making dye and feeding to mooshrooms like with the torch flower. Hopefully bees are attracted to these flowers as well.

    I think the sniffer could have an useful use apart from decorative. It could be great if the sniffer is the only who can digg in a new type of blocks in a new structure or in another one that is alredy exist. And then the sniffer could bring to us new unic items, usefuull items. Also I think it would be cool to the sniffer can allow to 4 players mount him. Also I thin when a Sniffer put an egg this eeg have to be put like a block not an itema

    Sniffer eggs should only be able to spawn on a certain block (moss? Sand?) In order to hatch, like turtle eggs. In its current state the egg hatches on any block and can't be used as decoration.

    I haven’t spent much time with the Sniffer, and I haven’t tested its mechanics much. However, I do have two thoughts:
    - In my opinion, the Sniffer should have several different kinds of plants that it can dig up. I’m not sure exactly how many is a good amount, but I am a bit of a plant goblin and I want lots of pretty flowers to collect.
    - In my opinion, the Sniffer’s texture is a lot more complicated than a Minecraft texture should be. It frankly looks like it’s from a mod. This isn’t a big deal to me, but it’s something I wanted to point out.

    The sniffer egg as an item does not match the placed down version. Perhaps make the item look more blocky and minecrafty? Probably had been mentioned somewhere, but better mentioned again than never.

    The eggs are a bit to thick and lopsided, and add an animation for the hatching.

    I really love the new Pitcher Plant, but I think a lot of its charm comes from the giant potato pod thing its attached to. I would really love a way to harvest it from farmland that preserves the pod, so I can use it for decor elsewhere. It’s good that a podless version exists, but I prefer it with one.

    As for the Sniffer Egg, I do wish there was a way to keep them dormant so they can be used as decor. They’re a cool block and I’d love to be able to use them!!

    Ancient plants should have more uses.
    Such as torchflower glowing in the dark.
    And a good use to picher plant too should be added.

    Overall, I'm a huge fan of the Sniffer so far. I really, really enjoy the fact that you need to make a dedicated pasture for Sniffers instead of throwing them into a tiny box with grass, and it gives Allays a really unique use that I believe they desperately needed (Also, the dynamic of having your ancient plant farm run on big, lumbering animals and tiny fairy creatures is really cute).

    One feature that is perhaps unintended is the properties of the Pitcher Pods' unique hitbox, extending a pixel downwards like an "upside-down fence" and also perfectly containing boats when placed on all 4 sides of one. Right now it's a bit janky, of course, as the pod block's bottom side is untextured, but it would be really nice if you could shear this pod off of the fully-grown Pitcher Plant to place elsewhere in the world, either for its functional properties or simply as a standalone decoration (I think it looks really nice!).

    1. Snifflet hatching animation should match the mob vote concept, instead of just pop as we saw in the recent snapshot, it should have its own animation, since 1.20 seems to be all about bringing new and better animations just like the camel sitting and the sniffer sniffing animations.

    2. The snifflet is way too big to fit the egg, it should be smaller, not tiny like the turtle babies, but enough to seem that it came out from the egg.

    3. The egg (block) itself is weird, it have too much round patterns for a block game, i think it should have less green spots, and make them more like a square

    4. For museum/decorative purposes, we should have a way for the sniffer egg not hatch, maybe it should hatch only in soil type blocks like sand/dirt/moss, but not in stone type blocks (or it dont hatch if placed in ice blocks)

    5. It will be sad, but the sniffer egg should be destroyed if a mob steps on it or if mined without silk touch, just like the turtle eggs, and since it looks heavy, it should have gravity

    6. Interaction with other mobs and plants! sniffer looks like it have moss covering its back, maybe it could atract parrots who would sit on its back. Also, maybe we could plant flowers on it, and atract bees, having some secondary effect on the honey production maybe? or for decorative purposes only.

    7. hatching time is way too short for a reanimated dinosaur, turtles hatch in 4 or five days, lets give the sniffer a week at least

    The Sniffer Egg should break when an anvil is dropped on it from afew blocks high.

    I love the sniffer mob and the unique plants it produces! I find that it would still be cool to add some cool details to the plants such as making the Torchflower glow, much like a glow sign and making it the first plant to have that kind of mechanic. This also goes for the pitcher plant and making it lethal to small insect based mobs such as bees, silverfish, and endermites. These kinds of little add-on mechanics make them so much more of a reward to have without making them entirely useful besides unique decorations.

    I loved the addition of the Sniffer, as it is a mob with tremendous potential, but so far, none of it has been used. More ancestral seeds should be added, and each of them with different particularities, such as new types of trees, or even parts used to be able to open the portals of the ancestral cities

    make sniffer to locate Ancient city

    • player can sleep on a sniffer
    • when you wake up in morning, player will spawn 50 blocks in the direction of the Ancient city.

    Could you give the sniffer a unique hatching animation like in the trailer?? I would also love either more growth stages or randomized final sizes just like someone else suggested. The size variation was a huge part of the appeal in the trailer

    I like the bigger snifflet heads, but the egg should hatch more randomly using random ticks.
