I would like them to add the archeology posts with suspicious gravel as they showed in minecraft live. And in turn add here new pieces such as a dog / cat, another that is a plant / flower / tree and a last one that could be a heart <3

Also, I would appreciate a long pot for tall flowers to complete the collection! because it would combine with the pots...

I like how the new pot shards can be found in suspicious sand, but what about adding clay tablets? The clay tablets could help find abandoned or even buried village structures in the same way treasure maps find shipwrecks and buried treasure. It would tie stumbling upon a random well with suspicious sand quite nicely. I always think of Pompeii being buried by ash when archeology comes up.

We should be able to store certain things in the pots.

When digging around it would be cool to find very rarely an in tact pot with bones or emeralds inside of it.

I think that the diamond pattern could be changed to something a bit more "Minecrafty" since no gem in Minecraft looks like that, maybe it could be changed to something more akin to what rubies used to look like for the sake of nostalgia, or simply to the normal diamond or emerald appearance.

Also I think that the there could be patterned fragments resembling waves, sparkles, or flowers, and maybe the pots and the fragments could both be dyed, as to increase the customizability of the pots.

A creeper design would also be very classic, since we know that creepers have existed for a while, as is hinted at with the chiseled sandstone in the desert temples.

With the addition of the new suspicious gravel, I think we should have suspicious dirt too, but also maybe some suspicious stone/ancient stones that wee use a chisel on just like the brush!

They should add suspicious dirt, soul sand, and soul soil (archeology in the nether!)

it would be nice if there was a specific structure for archaeology. and there could be a new block for villagers that is related to archaeology.

The pottery shards need more uses. Maybe you can use charcoal and paper to make ‘rubbings’ of the designs so you can make pots easier to reproduce.

And then with these rubbings we could make more hieroglyphic blocks. Add a ‘rubbings’ slot to the stonecutter to add more patterns to sandstone, red sandstone, stone brick, etc.

I think that for archeology there should be dig sites where people used to be

Muchas gracias:))

Brushes should still be able to dig up suspicious blocks in adventure mode. Not only is this a very adventure themed mechanic, but it unlocks the ability for players to organically remove blocks in adventure mode, and opens new doors for map creators.

In what we have seen so far I am afraid that this feature is going to be too "small" of a feature that will really underwhelm. What I am seeing is at certain places you will find some sus sand or gravel and be able to dig up a few artifacts and that then that area / element is "done".

It seems to me it would be far better if there were huge areas within a biome that have a LOT of artifacts to be found where players could use their creativity to build actual dig sites and bases surrounding an area where the immersion would be much greater and perhaps more meaningful. It doesn't seem to be the case and I think this is a "missed opportunity" if it will solely be a few bits and pieces surrounding existing temple structures in the game.

So much promise and possibility to it and I just am not seeing it so far. Hoping this gets some eyes to consider it as a much bigger thing than it currently feels like :)

As a builder I really want to be able be able to pick up the suspicious blocks, especially the sand. The desert really lacks a lot of options for texturing builds and the suspicious sand would be an amazing block to help with that.

I'd be very happy if we could silk touch suspicious blocks so players can continue to tell their tales through more building options. I think it makes sense that a silk touched suspicious block also would lose whatever treasure is contained within so it can't be exploited via gravity block dupers.

I suggest adding a new excavation site in abandoned villages. This makes sense, because in this way it will be possible to come up with more stories with villages. You can also add a new loot there, for example, some ancient dishes or something like that

As sniffer eggs are rarely excavated in warm ocean ruins, maybe you could occasionally find damaged tridents in cold ocean ruins.

You should be able to enchant the brush with fortune for higher chances of getting good loot when using it.

The loot is honestly really bad so far for how rare suspicious sand and gravel can be. I'd either make them more common or reduce the amount of "junk" items you can get

Jungle temples, ancient cities, and perhaps Nether bastions and mineshafts should be dig sites.

I think it'd be great if three improvements to the decorative pot were made.

    • Storage capabilities. You right-click to put in an item, and up to five items can be put in a pot. There's no UI, just right-clicking.
    • Redstone capabilities. Using a comparator will measure the amount of items inside of a pot, while using a hopper will put items into a pot.
    • Dyeable pots. Being able to make pots out of different colors (probably using terracotta) or being able to dye the pots and their patterns would be GREAT for decoration.

I think it would be cool to have the ability to dye the pottery shards to add some extra customisation. Maybe even with a primary and secondary colour. For example the bow shard would have the arms of the bow be the first colour and the string be the second. With the cauldron being used to clean them. Would also open the door to more pattern focused shard options e.g. striped or zigzags

You should be able to surround an item with sand/gravel to embed it into a craftable block of suspicious sand/gravel. This would be good for map makers to add their own secrets without the use of commands. Additionally you should be able to surround an item with pottery shards to hide the item inside the pot and it will only be revealed when the pot is shattered. Limit this to a single item though. It would also be a neat find when exploring and serve as a unique method of getting loot.

It would be really good if the suspicious sand placed in creative mode dropped loot, and not just the generated suspicious sand dropped loot. It is something that is really good for story building with children and as a lot of children play in creative mode they like to make their own worlds and stories using the blocks.

In sunken ruins, nautilus shells should appear among the archaeological loot.

With the new trail ruins, I see a lot of people saying that are ugly, but I think that have a self-style but it can be improve. But I think this update needs an amazing structure of archeology, some excavation zone, a dino fossil, or may be upgrading the existing fossils too. Maybe a new Temple or ancient village, also it would be great that this update brings to us new types of villages in more biomes, or a new villager profession the archeologist that trade unique items, or may be improve the wondering trader, an now he trades unic items or block, useful and decorative.

I like the inclusion of new pottery designs and armour trims. Think you could add even more?

You should be able to put any item in the pot. And when you smash the pot, the item drops. Would be great for minigames and custom maps!
