After adding archeology in 1.20 we received suspicious sand. So why not add the ability to hide items for treasures or something similar in ordinary sand. in this case, the texture would also be different but not as prominent as that of suspicious sand. Speaking of treasures, it would be nice to add the ability to bury chests in such sand

How can archeology be improved? it would be nice if more types of nautilus and fossils were added, which would make it possible to diversify the archeology. After you found them, you could place them on a cobblestone wall, or craft them into stone and bone meal.

I think the archeology idea is wonderfull, I just have some ideas to enrich the proejct.

It could be great if we could find special weapons or tool with it. like an ancient obsidian dagger in the jungles to imitate the aztecs tecpatl, or golden neckless to imitate the pharaoh adornments, or winged sandals like the talaria of hermes given to perseus in greek mythology, etc. they could have their own caracteristics, like the trident.

Also we could have to fight a new kind of boss, an ancient spirit/ghost we would invoke with diferent kind of things.

There is a trim around the decorated pot shards, but for the blank side, there is no trim around, which can make a pot less congruent if it has any sides decorated with any other shard. I would like to see the blank shard to have the same trim and it would make the pot look so much better!

New archeology pots should be able to have double tall plants planted.

The decorated pots look great right now. To make them even better, I think it would be awesome if we could dye them like terracotta. Also, it would be cool if you could put a sapling in one and it would grow into a mini tree, that could also work with mushrooms, bamboo and cacti. Also you should be able to put 2 block tall plants in them.

Rubies should definitely be either a new ore that has the rarity of emeralds or a thing you can find in suspicious sand. Rubies should also have some kind of use that isn't trading.

I have two main bits of feedback:

    1. I think archeology is way to restrictive right now. take fishing for example, where you can fish on any body of water and have fun with it at any time. Similarly, I think you should be able to use the brush on any block and there be a chance to get some sort of biome related item, such as sticks, gravel, etc. That being said, I absolutely love how archeology adds another use for structures/exploration, so the unique and rare drops such as diamonds and shards could totally be kept exclusive to the same spots they are now.

    2. I really enjoyed the concept of baking the pots over fire that we saw at mclive. I do think it would probably have been unintuitive and weird to place the way it was, but I think campfires are an easy solution. just like how you can place candles on cake, you could be able to place clay pots on directly on campfires. if you break the campire the pot would also break as a seperate item, and together they would be 1 1/2 blocks tall. Plus, maybe theres some cool room far variation, where if you cook it with soulfire, it turns out a different color or something.

Every aspect of archeology was better in Minecraft Live, and the pots should also be able to hold plants, including tall flowers since they are bigger than normal flower pots, also every shovel-able block should be brush-able to be kinda like snow layers but items only generate in the blocks in certain structures.

Ideas for minecraft pots,I think it would be cool if the ceramic shard design "the black skull like design" was a separate texture from the "gold rim" it has. I mean, once you craft a vase, the gold rim and the black design or paint would be separate textures mostly so that the normal pots are not so simple and you can optionally use the "black design" of the ceramic shard or the "gold rim" or both together. I think it would be cool if this would be a new pattern template for pots exclusive to structures like mineshaft and buried chests and have similar patterns like minecraft dungeons or unique vases and these could be used by putting your pattern on all four sides with an already crafted pot in the center. Also it would be nice if normal dyes could be used in the patterns along with the glowing squid ink.

If we have archaeology in the deserts, why not in other biomes too? Maybe there was some kind of ancient civilization in the plains that left a ruined well behind, or even in the nether? Honestly what I really want out of this is more structures in worldgen

Vases are cool as decoration, but they are made to hold items, so:

You know how droppers need redstone to be activated, so they drop one item of their content to the player who needs it. What im suggesting is that vases always drop their content instead, without interacting with redstone and there could be a GUI, but not interactable: where one would only be able to see the content. They would have 5 slots for the content.

The direction vases would be looking at would be up to the player: if the vase faces up, the item drops up and so on, with all the 6 directions. The item gets stored into the container block that the vase is facing, unless it is facing a wall.

This would make vases very useful, but unlike both droppers and hoppers:
    1) hoppers check above to see if there is anything to store inside and are stopped by redstone
    2) droppers need redstone to be activated and don't work if they aren't activated.

This way, instead of needing a comparator that makes some sort of pulsing redstone signal to make objects drop from a dispenser or to make a pipe upwards, it'd just work without redstone and not having arrays of hoppers to bring items sideways will make it not necessary to waste furnaces or comportes *above* them in order to reduce lag... Which, btw, is done only by those who know about hopper lag.

Would explain the differences from droppers and hoppers, but there's a character limit. Go check my post on reddit, called:"The usefulness of the new vase in Minecraft"

The Archaeology looks amzaing, but it would be better if there was more variations to Suspicious Sand.It is pretty cool (And Lore-related...) That digging sites are only present in Deserts, but this causes the "travelling" side of 1.20 to disappear a bit.So my idea is to make a new Block called Suspicious Grass which can be found in almost any Biome such as Jungles or even Plains, and that this Block has its own prizes such as new Pottery Shards.

I like Archaeology, but I feel it can be expanded. For starters I feel only 4 Pottery Shards make most pots feel same-y, so I propose the addition of 4 more Shards. Creeper Shard, Sword Shard, Pillager Shard, and Apple Shard. This would make more stories being told on the pot more varied.
Another improvement that could be made is how you make the pot. Please revert it back to how it was shown in Minecraft Live 2020, although if you broke it, you would get your Shards and some bricks back, like in its current implementation. Also if you could dye the pots that would be really cool.
I also feel you should receive more loot variety. Like a new Music Disc only found in Brushing away a block, or a tablet with ancient text written on it, unreadable though, and you could hang it up.
One last thing is I hope there are more Dig Sites. Whether it be entirely new ones, or ones found in pre existing structures.
    Can't wait for the Update.

The pots and shards should change, first, more shards, like 8 small and 8 large (larges would have the same designs as smalls but bigger and would be crafted by 4 smalls), second, dyeable shards for better customization, third, the pot making mechanics from Minecraft Live, fourth, shards should be placeable anywhere on the pot, to the pixel, fifth, glazeable pots like normal terracotta, sixth, pottery shards should be renamed to terracotta shards, seventh, plants, including tall flowers should be able to be planted in them, eighth, when not being used for plants, storage, slightly less than a chest.

I love that archeology has been implemented. The one thing I do not really like is that it is really simple. Not saying it's not fun, but it would be nice to get new designs and sizes for pots in another upcoming update

можно добавить зыбучий песок возле останков костей можно добавить туда редкие предметы например древние кости из них можно будет делать мега костную муку ана работает на площадь еще та можно найти  амулет например строителя блоки ломаются на пять процентов быстрей

Clay pots should be able to hold an item that drops when you smash it.

Yes I'm stealing this from Zelda but it would be a cool way to provide treasures.

I just noticed there's no 'plain' version of pottery. Could you please add a version of clay pots that don't have any image on them? You presumably have the image files already made.

I really like the change to what blocks you dust, with more specific ones than just any blocks, but I reallllly dislike the newer pots. The best part about them in the preview a while back was how colourful and modular they were, now we get like 20 different possible combinations and that's it, and they all look lame. They also really lost that feeling of telling a story cause now the story is just "shot a skeleton for a diamond" on every pot.

Hey Minecraft I am studying Archeology currently just for some clarification when talking about artifacts Pottery is referred to as Sherds and Shards are referring to glass. Some could argue that they can be used interchangeably but Sherd is more accepted in the community both in the US and overseas.
