Armor coating!

Suppose I want Netherite armor with the appearance of leather; its impossible. However, with a new armor coating system, it would be possible. I envision armor coating working like this; you put the armor you want the stats of in the smithing table, then you put the armor you want it to appear as beside it. Though it is only a cosmetic feature, I feel like it would add a lot of creativity and customization to the entire armor trim system.

    I suggested the idea of being able to hide armor with an enchantment, and several people commented that part of PVP was assessing whether you could defeat an opponent based on their armor.

    Maybe with the new armor customization Minecraft needs to add "Vanity Slots" for Head, Chest, Pants and Feet, so that you can wear a Diamond Armor, but it looks like you are wearing dyed Leather Armor or another armor with a trim. In this way expressiveness is put above without sacrificing protection. The battles will be more colorful, and it would finally make sense to wear gold or chain armor.

    I think it should not be necessery to put the armor next to it. For example if you want a iron armour to look like a netherite armor this system would be worthless, if you need the netherite. Maybe by adding a coating smithing template and with a representive item you you can then change the look to the armor set you want.
