Tools and Weapon Trims

Tools and Weapons could now match and have the same aesthetic as the armor the player has.

    I think this would be even more useful than armour trims, since it would make it easier to tell the difference between tools with different enchantments if you put different trims on, like differentiating a silk touch pickaxe and a fortune pickaxe.

    I would love to see this as a way to implement different types of weapons, like making my sword into a katana and axe into a halberd or something along the lines of that. Or maybe a way to add unique items like those in Minecraft dungeons

    What a splendid Idea however what we also need is extra toughness and blast resistant to armor, to weapons

    Swords, axes and bow and crossbow plus tridents should also have trims

    But adds more durability and More damage

    For example Netherite sword has a Damage of 8+ when trimmed with diamond it will become 9+ plus but if Netherite then it would become 10+ and also it will increase durability.

    And adds buff to it

    And Tridents will have extra more damage and enchantability

    Bows and crossbows Don't forget to mention and shields too for extra Defense and protection

    Yes please add this. I don’t see a reason for me to want to trim my armor to gold or iron if my sword or axe is just a plain color. It should definitely be less expensive and you wouldn’t need to add 100 trims just one basic design for each so they could match the armor in color. It would be cosmetically appealing and add more appeal for going and making armor trims.

    I agree but it would be even cooler if they gave buffs such as more damage, more durability and more range (for trident specifically). Like imagine having a Netherite Sword with amethyst trim to match your Netherite Armor. Especially because why would I want my cool amethyst trimmed armor with my plain old sword, axe, pickaxe, shovel or hoe?

    We need these trims so that Minecraft would be more fun, pull more ppl in, make yters start new smps, and would honestly change the entire community to be more themselves. And I too agree with every other comment I have read.

    Yes I've noticed that my tools look kinda bland next to my multi color armor.

    tool/weapon trims would be genuinely useful too, so you can mark different tools/weapons of same kind you use with different enchantments, all the time I keep mistaking my silk touch and fortune pickaxes when mining and having no time to check to be sure which one is which (carrying both into mines as stone and ores I want as blocks themselves but deepslate I want cobbled), same would be surely worth for swords, tridents and other tools/weapons those have mutually exclusive enchantments, it would be much better alternative than making enchantments change looks of tools, which would look as incomprehensible mess with fully enchanted gear and mismatch with armor which hasnt such thing and if it had, it would ruin esthetics of armor trims
    they should and couldnt be as complex and diverse as armor trims, but something simple as some gem on them, part of handle or such being colored by one of many materials of your choice would totally help people sort tools and weapons, as well as made it possible to make matching style with trims

    Maybe Minecraft should stop being so... Less when it comes to community suggestions, this is something we all want, they can't make us pay for an addon just to get something we all want, it's not fair to those who can't afford the pay wall they lock these cool features behind, and we know it's not too hard to program into the game because THESE IDEAS ARE ALREADY IN THE GAME VIA ADDONS AND MODS
