Netherite is literally made of gold, so piglins shouldn't be angry at you if you are wearing full netherite armor.

Mojang: Piglins aren't smart enough to know that netherite is an alloy of gold!

Me: I miss the part where that's my problem. Also if they are not smart, then how were they able to build the bastion remnants with netherite in the chests? They were the first to make Minecraft's first netherite ingot, so they know that netherite is made of gold.

    Great idea, but...
Make it beautiful. It looks awful.
Do not use netherrack, use obsidian it's more lore/logic-friendly.

The block used to craft the template should be ancient debris.

I think it would be better if netherite upgrades couldn't be duplicated in the first place, because just finding one of these, you would no longer need to explore because it is enough to duplicate them and BAM, as if the netherite upgrade never existed, if they want to encourage players to explore, duplicating netherite upgrades doesn't help.

really bad idea. getting netherite was already hard enough, and it sounds like a really lazy update

Hot take but people who are saying this is a good idea are going to be the first people to say that it’s to hard to get full netherite gear

I think that the feature should either be removed, or the netherite upgrade be like banner patterns

I think netherite armor is very powerful, so it should be more difficult to obtain. However, traveling around the nether is almost impossible because getting a pet strider can be difficult. To solve this problem, please add warped fungus as a loot for ruined portal chests.

I think each template should have three uses to save on diamonds while not making exploring obsolete.

    That’ll just make things harder!

In my opinion, this item is very burdensome. You see, I've always avoided the Bastions, because of how the Piglin Brutes were difficult to me to handle, and now I'm basically FORCED to go in there. If it will stay like this, I will never get any netherite items ever again and I will keep getting killed by Brutes over and over. So in order to solve this, I've got some ideas: Either removing this whole Netherite Upgrade completely, or, in my opinion even better solution: Put it also in the chests in the Nether Fortresses or maybe even nerf the Brutes so they won't be so hard anymore (For example: Piglins shouldn't attack us when we hit the Brutes, or there should be only one brute per one specific zone in the Bastion, like in case of the Elder Guardians in the Ocean Monuments). I really hope one of these things will happen.

    Sincerely, Susan

Hello I actually like this idea but I am not fascinated by the texture of a netherite-upgrade - it reminds me to an addon... Maybe someting like a mould made of "antique" stone?

I like the idea of wanting to push players to loot  bastion remnant  but I think the upgrade model to netherite and other customization models shouldn't break after use like banner designs. Netherite provides only 1 point of robustness, resistance to recoil and 470 more durability compared to diamond. The cost compared to performance is disproportionate.

I personally am not a hardcore Minecraft player. I am having a hard enough time trying to get Netherite (and diamond tbh) without the addition of Netherite Upgrade Templates. Please, either don’t make Netherite harder to obtain or make it far more powerful. Just remember that not every player has the experience, or time, to make templates worthwhile for everyone.

Simple opinion - Netherite upgrade would be too expensive, tedious, unnecessary, and needs more time to develop.

Being a veteran player the additional trim is a great way to customize armor. Unfortunately there are many loose ends with the trim and upgrade. First the cost to duplicate is 7 diamonds, there is no reason for them to be that expensive. The diamonds wouldn’t even add to the armor and go no ware for durability. Also if the goal is to increase exploration and progression time then why even have the option to duplicate?

For the upgrade specifically the design and Netherrack feels out of place. Again no need for diamonds to craft them because the whole purpose is to add netherite to diamond armor. A cool concept but ultimately makes netherite armor tedious, and up to chance not the grind of mining and crafting.

Also what would be the lore to back the upgrade and how did piglens obtain it?

Minecraft is a great game and will continue to get better with time/community. No disrespect to the devs, they make the game special. This is only an option.

I think that netherite templates should be a rare drop of piglin brutes.

Bastions are already hard to find, this will be very damaging on multiplayer servers and I hate this addition

Are you sure people are going to like the idea of having to find a template each time they want to make netherite tools,l.

Make templates more expensive to craft but make them permanent (non-consumable), doesn’t make sense for them to be used up.

There should be a trim pattern that covers the whole armor in the trim, virtually replacing the the armor color

There should be a trim pattern that makes armor invisible or very minimal, so that people who want to see their skins still can while wearing armor

I think this new Netherite upgrade template really makes obtaining Netherite far too difficult for its benefit. Going from Iron to Diamond there's a clear improvement, but from Diamond to Netherite, knockback resistance and immunity to lava are all I'm seeing- there's a reason why there's a fair amount of people who don't bother with Netherite. I think this template idea should be changed or removed- I saw a comment about the template not being consumed when you use it, which was a very interesting idea. Another one was make it a rare Piglin trade (I don't pretend to have come up with either of these ideas).

Or, make Netherite armour more worth it. Maybe do that simply by increasing durability and damage reduction, or add exclusive abilities, enchantments, etc.

Basically, obtaining Netherite is already not easy. With the upgrade template, it's now too difficult for an upgrade that doesn't justify its cost.

I think the idea of Netherite Upgrading Templates is pretty good, the only point is that it costs a lot of Diamonds to duplicate it.So my idea is that the Templates have a utility bar and can be used multiple times before breaking. This would let a chance for players to understand that Netherite Upgrades are valuable.

I think that maybe armor templates shouldn't be destroyed when used but instead, be put into a broken state like an elytra. Then you would, of course, be able to repair them with related materials. I think this would be better than the copy system that is in the current snapshot as with it being possible to copy templates I feel that they lose some amount of value. I mean imagine If you could make copies of music discs; imagine how less rare they would feel if you could just have 20 copies of Pigstep all because one of your friends found a single copy and proceeded to give them out; that would just ruin the point of music discs and I think this same logic applies to templates.

My thoughts on this change on the diamond -> netherite upgrade is fairly mixed, on one hand, I like how this change makes you keep your diamond armor for some time instead of jumping straight to netherite as soon as you have diamonds, on the other hand, I feel as if simply finding the Upgrade randomly (albeit rarely) in bastions makes them somewhat underwhelming, along with them only being one use and being expensive to duplicate, so I would like to pitch an idea to spice up this new system:

The bastion vault: A new rare bastion class that is guaranteed to have an upgrade in it along with upgrades being made multi-use, this new structure is maze-like and filled with piglins and piglin brutes, many chests can spawn here with the normal bastion loot, but only one holds the upgrade, and that one is in a portion of the vault called "the central chamber" once you make it here, you're gonna have to face against quite the foe to get the upgrade: a new mini-boss that guards the upgrade chest

The piglin titan: A larger piglin brute (similar size to the warden, albeit much lower stats) who gaurds the upgrade chest in the vault, equipped with gold armor with netherite trim, a netherite axe, and a crossbow to attack players with if they stay out of melee range.

    HP: 75 hearts (150 health)
Melee attack: 12.5 hearts (25 damage)

Ranged attack: 6 hearts (12 damage) (Will attack player with spectral arrows to attract other piglins to the fight)
to all who read this: vote yes if you like this idea!

Minecraft has a major focus on exploration after all, I think we need more powerful items and upgrades and such that can only be found by exploring and finding structures
