What if materials such as resonant crystals, seashells, primarina sharp and prismarine crystals, flint, etc. can be used for the blacksmith table as color, and what if you make that idea that they find two new designs, one of fishing and other snow made by the community

There should be a sculk color trim!! Using a deep dark shard you can give the trim an animated sculk color!!

The animation in the smithing table is ambiguous because redstone dust, sugar, gunpowder and glowstone dust use the same model in the default resource pack.

I think it should display the GUI like beacon's GUI.

I think echoshards should be a material for armor trims

I know this has nothing to do with armor trims but there should be a way to attach elytra’s to armor so you don’t have to sacrifice some protection so you can fly

if we could enchant smithing templates and then when we apply them to armor, the armor gets those enchants even if it has the max amount of enchants already that would be fire

I think that if your going to use diamonds than the amount of diamonds should be reduced in the recipe. 7 diamonds are too expensive. Perhaps using clay in the template with two diamonds would be a fairer recipe.

So I know that these are supposed to be Upgrades to your armor visually But may I make a suggestion? Since these Templates are found in some of the most dangerous places You gotta make it worth Our while it would be really amazing if When you Get certain armor trims Not only does it give you a different look for your netherite armor, Make it so that You will get certain effects depending on the smithing templates Used on the armor. As an example for the spire armor template You could probably make it so that You start behaving like a shulker Where every time you hit a mob with your sword or a bow They start levitating and then if you block a projectile It deflects it back at the Shooter or If that's a bit much They will give Different potion effects depending on If you use the full armor trims on all parts of the armor or some of the armour dependent on what their patterns are based on, Kind of like the turtle shell where It gives you water Breathing. You can then mix and match different patterns on different armor To get a myriad of potion effects and if you make your trim with gold, Piglins will no longer attack you. This could be used to implement some of the Potion effects in Minecraft that are Currently unobtainable Like health boost.

Since Armor Trims are purely cosmetic, I'd personally rather them be less expensive, especially with the help they could provide on multiplayer servers (with everyone currently looking extremely similar with maxed-out-netherite armor). There's no reason in my opinion to make the templates not permanent, like banner templates.

I really love the armor trims but I think the armor model needs to be scaled and readjusted so that the shoulders are slightly bigger than the chestplate. Currently as the arms swing in the idle pose, the shoulders and chest Z-fight and oscillate what is rendered on top, switching from showing the armor trim detail on the shoulders to masking it instead.

This has always been an occurrence with the game but because armor trims stand out from the armor, it makes this event very apparent. Maybe scaling the shoulders out slightly or modifying the shader code so that the shoulders have higher depth-buffer priority would mitigate this!

Really love everything about the armor trims! Such a great and unexpected feature

i saw a photo for another "crystal" as a trim like the amethyst crystal but using the new new echo shard but as a trim.  its a mix of the block skulk and the void in the end just try it as a test trim you add you WILL fall in love with it. i love it so much i would have my full netherite armor trimmed with echo shards that would look like the deep dark colored blockswould just be my number 1 favorite trim

gold trimmed armor and the nether discussion...

so i think we should 100% be okay with piglins if we have gold trim on BUT the normal gold trimmed armor must have "an "upgraded" gold trim make it where you surround the piece of armor in a crafting table with 8 blocks of gold around 1 piece of armor making it where you could have like a gold trim netherite helmet but for piglins to be cool with you it must be upgraded with gold blocks surrounding the armor piece in a crafting table. makes gold more wanted. i mean i drop or will pass gold in the mines alot because what all can you really use it for or need it for. and if you want your gold trim to ward off piglins than your going to need a lot more that just 4 gold ingots for boots but 8 gold blocks around your boots even if it already had gold trim without the blocks you wont be safe frim piglins

Armor trimming templates should be easier to duplicate or be reusable to encourage early game use. The Netherite upgrade should be the one that requires diamonds to craft renewable since its a gameplay upgrade for your armor, the rest are cosmetic and I personally wouldn't use trims on early game armor in survival if it takes tons of diamonds to put trims on leather, gold, iron, and chainmail.

It'd also be nice if the elytra and horse armor could have trims.

The copper trim should oxidize over time and get a greenish colour

-> the lower the durability the more oxidized it looks

Make trims that can glow like endermans eyes, maybe glow inc sacs can have another use?

It might be having some effects or abillities when applying one of them.

For example: when applying the sentry trim template to an armor by the iron ore it gives you hero of the village, also if you make the diamond upgraded trim it adds more durability to the armor.

It would be really exciting if you added these.

    Answering the questions:

    1. It should not be challenging, unless armor trims actually upgrade your armor.

    2. Only if you search in new mysterious structures.

    3. Again, only if armor trims actually upgrade your armor.

    4. Sorry, I don't know what intuitive means.

    5. Cosmetic or upgrade, they should look awesome.

    6. Yes.

    • Its always a big adventure exploring further out, at times it feels like to many of minecraft's resources are in one place which prevents exploring.
    • The smithing table UI is pretty good.
    • The trim looks great but the gold trim is to orange/brown it needs to be more yellow.
    • Yes but I find its a bit limiting in creativity.

I like this new feature and I have some idea's to share!

    • When using the smithing table you can apply a smithing template and then reapply a new template design, why not layer the design's on top of each other like banners?
    • Use the grind stone to remove armor trim completely. (some XP could be given in place of the trim being removed)
    • Since existing armour pieces with trim can be used on the smithing table again, it could be possible to add an overlay material that is not a colour, so you could add glow squid ink to be seen by players in the dark but not illuminate an area and Glowstone to illuminate your surroundings a little.

I think armor trims should be able to be applied to tools and weapons as well as armor. Not only would this allow us to differentiate between tools and weapons for different situations at a glance without needing to hover or scroll over them, it would add coveted ornate designs to our arsenals that would allow for further customization.

Add that the leather can be used for trim an armor too, using the smithing table but instead of minerals it'll use dye because it's leather.

Now with this we're making almost infinite combinations with them. To make a noticeable difference between them, the mineral ones shoud be more stylish and detailed while the leather trims will have simple details when used on any armor.

Leather armor + leather trim? It's possible to make them and the armor and trim will be dyed differently.

Leather armor will dyed on the crafting table and the leather trim will be dyed in the Smithing table but instead of mineral they'll be dyed with color dyes.

When someone commented this and i realised, this is a lot of combinations.

Will this make the mineral colours lose value? Leather and mineral trims will or could have or different details, but even without that difference isn't easy to replicate with most of the mineral colors.
