pine wood, leaves, sapling

I recently learned from the Minecraft Wiki that the game has "pine" trees, but they use both spruce wood and spruce leaves and they grow from spruce saplings (they're the trees that only have leaves clustered at the top), despite the fact that spruce and pine are two distinct types of trees IRL (both are in the family pinaceae, but pines are in the genus pinus, spruces in the genus picea). I think the pine should be given its own unique wood, leaves, and saplings. I picture the bark looking similar to mangrove bark but gray instead of brown.
