With commands, you can make a locked chest, but I was thinking they could implement this into survival, with a feature I like to call the "Secure Chest", which acts like a normal chest but the little iron handle is actually gold. There would be a "key" item made out of gold, and in the GUI storage, there would be an extra slot that you put a paper renamed to whatever you want the name of the key to be. If I were to put a paper named "MinecraftIsAwesome" in the paper slot, the key would have to be named "MinecraftIsAwesome" to be allowed into the chest, otherwise the chest is locked. You can only open a locked chest with the golden key item, not any item you want. Upon crafting a Secure Chest (out of a gold ingot and a chest), you can open it whenever with whatever you want UNTIL you put the paper inside.
