Increasing size of diamond veins, reducing amount of diamond veins found

Since the introduction of the caves update the amount of diamonds found in veins has been reduced, meaning when you find diamonds you often only find a few in that cluster. But this now means when you find diamonds it's often more underwhelming than it used to be, finding fewer veins of diamonds but more diamonds within them. I, and hopefully the Minecraft community, want this to be reverted back to its prior state, fewer veins more diamonds within them,

  in real life, diamonds are very rare and small (minecraft diamonds are all bigger than the hope diamond)

  and the current generation is fine to me.
