Minecraft has some of the most iconic gaming music, so why is it implemented so poorly? The way music worked for the longest time is that it only plays at random, with the only adaptiveness coming from the dimension and game mode. With the introduction of new music that plays in specific biomes, it's more than appropriate to overhaul music selection to make it more adaptive. Music can now play in two ways, randomly and intently.
Random tracks play at random and can either be based on the world around you, the state of the world, or the state of the player. Intently played tracks play when the player is completing a quest like conquering a structure, and the tracks are based on the quests themselves. This new music system will hopefully give the player a stronger connection to the game, and create amazing moments too. It can also create the potential for new song ideas, which can create a more diverse soundtrack.
