Minecart Stations

Would it be possible to have a Station Rail?

My concept is there would be Station Rails that basically work as Powered Rails with the ability to assign a name (text string) to them. If Minecarts could then have a "Destination" name assigned to them they would stop at the Station Rails if the names matched, otherwise the Station Rail would work like any other Powered Rail and the cart would continue on its way.

Building on this idea you could also have Rail Intersection rails that could divert carts based on the name they were carrying or let them go straight through if they were unnamed or the names didn't match. There would have to be rules based on the direction from where the cart was coming from to prevent 'bounce back' down the line from where it entered.
