The whole medieval period, in many rural parts even all the way till the early 20th century, 90% of houses were made out of different types of hardened dirt or mud mixed with straw and sticks. Packed mud was recently added to the game which perfectly fits this historically accurate and the most common type of wall. But the packed mud in game is brown, and most medieval to early modern era houses were white, because the dirt walls were whitewashed using limestone or chalk or even seashells cuz they all had calcite in it. Since there is already a Calcite block in game, which only has a decorative purpose, it would be fitting to give it a use by perhaps combining it directly (or first making calcite powder) with packed mud to create whitewashed packed mud. That way you could get a use for calcite and at the same time add the most used building material in history for more than 1000 years.
PS: an aditional nice feature that would compliment that would be straw or thatched roofs/stairs, since it's hard to make beautiful roofs out of hay bales. Both the whitewashed packed mud and straw roofs could be a great addition perhaps to the 1.20 minecraft update and it gives more uses to both wheat and calcite:)
