Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Idea for paintings update

What if terrain could be converted into paintings so the player could make a painting of a mountain or of a build, you could also have villagers with paintings inside their homes of local terrain or structures nearby I think it would give a lot more life to the villagers and be more interesting than the limited paintings we have now.

    I expect they could add some item to the game that makes use of a focused screenshot and saves the resulting image file similar to the way they handle maps, which would at least allow the player to accumulate some paintings of their world without elaborate modding. I don't think such a system would work well for automatically generating pictures of the world for villagers to display, unfortunately, although perhaps it would still be amusing if the player "paints" a picture of his or her base and villagers the world over decorate their houses with copies.

    I don't know if they could make an automated system that would always select good angles with no obstructions for making pictures, but they could presumably add a system that allowed players to take such 'snapshots' and store them as an image file like a map for later reproduction. They'd probably need to change the way paintings currently work, or at least make a second type of painting entity for player-made images, as it could get very frustrating to try to get a specific painting if you've added dozens or hundreds of pictures of builds or cool landscapes and whatnot.
