Plants Turn Into Dead Bushes in the Nether

When certain plants such as saplings and sweet berry bushes are placed in the nether, they should die, turning into a dead bush, just like how coral dies when it isn't in water after a few seconds, creating a renewable source of dead bushes.

Perhaps before they die, bone meal and tick speed shouldn't have a chance at growing them in the nether?
