Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Latch and Key for Chests

Crafting a Chest Key would use a Gold Bar surrounded by Clay. After acquiring a Chest Key you can make multiple latches for it by using the Chest Key on a Latch. The Latch can be crafted with a Netherite Bar surrounded by Iron. Latch properties: Once placed on a Chest or double wide Chest, the chest themselves cannot be broken by normal means. The Latch at this point can still be mined off using a Diamond pickaxe or higher. Using a Chest Key on the Latch will then imprint on it and the chest can no longer be opened without it. If a Chest Key is destroyed for any reason, the Latch will revert back to the un-imprinted state. A Chest Key can be replicated by surrounding the Key with Clay in a crafting table.

    I think magic unlocking, lockpicking, and brute chest picking should be considered as role-playing alternatives.
