Why are they called "cows"?

All of Minecraft's are genderless, so shouldn't cows be call 'cattle'? Cows are female and yet Minecraft cows have both utters (cows) and horns (bulls) so it would make more sence to call them cattle then cows.

    1. Only Minecraft's humanoids (excluding witches and enderman, ig) are genderless.

    2. Most Minecraft Animals mobs seem to be female. Pigs, chickens and cows are all female counterparts. Cows produce milk, chickens lay eggs, name a pig Dinnerbone and you'll see what I mean. Which is why it's chicken instead of "rooster" or "fowl"

    I see your point, but you could make a resource pack to change all instances of the text "Cow" to "Cattle" if you like.
