Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

For some reason Mojang has been resistant to the idea, personally, I think the copper rod and blocks would be perfect existing blocks to use, the rods just need to be able to transmit a redstone signal like it does lightening, and in order to swap back to redstone dust (for repeaters, or the device) a Copper block with then a comparator. To keep it limited you can only go 6 rods before you need to make a repeater relay (which would go Copper Block->rod(6x)->Copper Block->dust/comparator (orientation)->[Next section]. This means you still get to about 8 blocks per a usual signal, gives another use for copper in line with its current behavior, and addresses a community's wants with a structure/build that has a bit of cost to it.
