Renewable Coral

Corals really need to be renewable. Bonemealing in a warm ocean doesn't make sense. I'm 99% sure that corals are animals so instead, what if on certain days (maybe every 50 days, or so), coral will release eggs that sometimes  go into the sand and make a polyp. Once there is a polyp, it will eventually grow into a full-sized coral, like a tree! The coral will also slowly grow fans on them. Oh yeah and the eggs can be put into a bucket for transportation.
