I don't know if my idea will fit the style of minecraft, but I would like to see neon signs, lights that could be used to decorate buildings. You can give the opportunity to make neon text or just neon wires that players would hang on their buildings. And as far as I'm concerned, it's not difficult to do and you don't need to make a new color lighting, but you can make a texture that will simulate the glow.
