Hello from an Archaeology student.
I have heard rumours of an missing archaeology feature in the recent caves & cliffs update. I have looked into what have been revealed from this upcoming feature to Minecraft, and I was rather intrigued to put it mildly. However in recent years in the field I study, the emphasis have been on contemporary archaeology, and how its importance shape our understanding of contemporary world events. I would like the team behind Minecraft to include something from the ‘near-past’ in the Minecraft world. The addition of for example an abandoned villager town or an typical player made ‘first-day house’, which show signs of ruination, but still made believable to have been habited in the near-past. This would make the world more alive and dynamic, that ‘you’ weren’t the first around in Minecraft’s procedurally generated overworld. To let these ruined buildings left with context of what might have happened, show signs of an illager raid, or even lore of the game world would have been an amazing detail to the missing archaeology feature.
I hope this have sparked inspiration, and food for thought for the team and for the patrons of this forum! Thanks for the attention!
Kind regards,
Archeology student
