Minecraft should add a Minimap

Here are some reasons it could be useful.

• A Minimap could help you find what you are looking for in your world's loaded chunks easier.

• In the early game it's easy to lose where that spot you wanted to build your base at was.

• It could also help you find the nether portal you made as we all know how easy it is to lose the location of nether portals in a new world that doesn't have a nether hub.

So those are my reasons we should have a Minimap in Minecraft.

  Maps are already an item. I get that things like nether portals don't appear on them, but I think it would be better to change existing maps, rather than add a new built in minimap.
