I want to be clear, I like the ambience of Minecraft now, even if it can be lonely on single player. However, even spending your whole time with villagers or other humanoids makes you feel surrounded by things you can’t speak with. I know that villagers shouldn’t have dialogue because they should fit the players story. We can instead make them speak about simple things. There could be a whole system. I think speaking to villagers and wandering traders could be something like this. You would open it up like you open an NPC’s dialogue. It would have a greeting and then some options. You could ask to trade, which would bring you to the trading system. You could also ask about some recent news. Villagers have a gossip system, so maybe an option that allows for them to tell you the most recent significant thing that happened. Wandering traders should be able to tell you a random coordinate of a basic, but still useful natural or artificial structure. This could mean they could tell you the coordinates of an ocean ruin or something else. I think that this would improve gameplay and make the game feel a different way than it did before.
