    Pockets spoil the protective properties of the armor, because much less hits become sliding, and hard small objects that are close to the body are traumatic when hit and when falling on them.
    I think such pockets can be riveted on a blacksmith table using metal nuggets, or sewn with thread on a workbench. Such slots would only hold small items and not much. The protective properties of the armor would be slightly reduced. But if the pockets are empty, then with a very small chance, the armor would block damage a little more, given that the pocket gives additional thickness to the armor.
    In general, it is desirable to add backpacks, belts and bags to the game, but reduce the starting inventory.
