Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Chiseled Bookshelves should be dropped without Silk Touch.

It's very bothersome that it's not droppable without Silk Touch. It's not like the block itself is as rare or hard to obtain as Silk Touch enchantments so it would make sense to have to have the requirement, as it's easy to craft with just slabs and wood planks. If at all it can WASTE materials as if you accidently broke it, needed to move it, or etcetera. You would not even get any resources you spent on crafting it back like you do with an enderchest or boats in very older Minecraft versions. I feel like this needs to be changed otherwise it will just be mostly utilized in Strictly Creative mode.

    Yes! It would make more sense for the books in the bookshelf to drop out when normally mining, while Silk touch could be used to pick up the bookshelf with it's books in it (obviously unstackable at that point). This use would be similar to a beehive which allows you to carry bees, and would provide more pre-ender dragon opportunities for inventory sorting, giving you an easier way to carry around all those enchantment books. This would also still have the idea of the regular bookshelf mechanics, but with more exciting options. It would also be great if a full chiselled bookshelf could count towards an enchanting table, which would give more options for an enchting setup, and "blocking" bookshelves to lower the max enchantment by a few levels (just take a book out instead of placing a torch or block). This mechanic would interestingly allow the use of chiselled bookshelves full of enchanted books to count towards the enchantment table, which could be interesting.

    It feels like such a weird item to not drop too! Most items that don’t drop without silk touch are natural items like vines or grass. The only other thing that i fould think of that doesn’t drop and is a craftable item, is glass. But that makes sence since it is ‘brittle’. But these bookshelves are made of the same stuff as all the other wood blocks! I think it would be nice to drop when there are no books inside, and like your suggestion that it would drop with the books when there are.

    THIS!! AT LEAST WITH GLASS IT MAKES SENSE BECAUSE YOU SHATTER IT BUT LIKE, THIS IS JUST AN EMPTY BOOKSHELF, I still don't even know if this is a forgotten mistake or a feature because this shouldn't be happening (tho at the same time the bookshelf also only drops books, nevertheless that still means you can atleast recraft it easier instead of starting from scratch), it's also so easy to misplace too because unlike a regular bookshelf it can rotate
