- Added new biome decoration feature "minecraft:multi_block_feature", which can be used exclusively to place blocks defined with the "minecraft:multi_block" trait
- Released the minecraft:instrument_sound component from experimental.
Block Components
- Vanilla blocks defined with shapes in the shapes/ folder now use voxel-shape based culling without requiring the Voxel Shapes experiment. This will allow custom blocks using voxel-shapes to attempt to cull against any vanilla block with a voxel-shape
Fences
- Vanilla fence blocks now expose per-direction connection block states (minecraft:connection_north, minecraft:connection_east, minecraft:connection_south, minecraft:connection_west) reflecting which neighbors the fence connects to
- In 1.26.40+ worlds, fence connection changes now send server-side block updates to adjacent blocks. Older worlds keep legacy behavior for compatibility.
Stairs
- Vanilla stair blocks now expose a minecraft:corner block state (none, inner_left, inner_right, outer_left, outer_right) reflecting the corner shape formed with adjacent stairs
- For new worlds (base game version 1.26.40 and later), stair corner-state changes now trigger neighbor block updates for parity with Java Edition; existing worlds keep the prior client-only update behavior
Crafting
- "minecraft:recipe_smithing_transform" now accepts items tagged with "minecraft:transform_materials" in its "addition" field
Commands
- Allow using player name as target for commands (i.e. /tell) for non-operator players.
- Allow self selection expansion when using commands (i.e. /tell) for non-operator players.

- Fixed the /fill command from improperly placing blocks defined with the minecraft:multi_block trait
Dedicated Server
- Fixed content-log-file-enabled option not creating log file when set to true (BDS-23033)
- Added CLI options to run the dedicated server in pack optimization mode, allowing creators to optimize packs for testing and distribution inside and outside Marketplace.
Editor
- Builds no longer crash or incorrectly copies data out of the Shared 'minecraftWorlds' folder for worlds (with behavior / resource packs enabled) upon exiting the Edit Project screen using the Back / Resume buttons

- Fixed issue that leaves the instance in the layout after baking, instead of removing it.
- Fixed a crash that occurred when removing structures from a layout template when a template was placed into the world
- Updating a structure from clipboard now opens a confirmation dialog before overwriting, and the option is disabled when the clipboard has no content
- Added pagination and selector menu support for tabs
- Using mouse wheel scroll on tool rail, action bar items and floating window tabs will now toggle between pages
- Added scrolling support for the menu bar and context submenus when they extend beyond the window size
- Fixed the cursor indicator from hiding transparent and semi-transparent blocks (e.g., water, glass, ice) behind it, which also caused a missing block in the Paste Preview at the cursor position
- Fixed a bug that caused gameplay hotbar to display in Editor tool mode
- Added a "Scale By" axis selector and a "Change Mesh" button to the Custom Mesh Tool, letting you size the mesh along its longest, width, height, or depth axis and swap in a different mesh file without leaving the tool.
- The Custom Mesh Tool now keeps the imported mesh loaded after placing or cancelling a placement, so you can place the same mesh multiple times without re-importing. The mesh and preview stay ready until you press Cancel while idle or change the mesh.
- Updated introduction floating window to be resizable
- Fixed a bug where deleting a world template locally and entering Edit World for that world caused potential data loss
- Gizmo now maintains consistent on-screen size during zoom and improves interaction by hiding overlapping unselected gizmos
- Added a timeline player component with a scrubbable timeline bar and playback controls for previewing time-based sequences
- TransactionManager functions undo and redo will now be processed over time

- Fixed a bug that caused scripted modal dialogs to not be centered by default
- Fixed a bug that caused Block Inspector tool to throw an error when selecting a block
- Sulfur Spring minecraft:structure_template_feature definitions now reference their structure templates with the minecraft: namespace (MCPE-237893)
- Fixed a bug where copying and pasting a double chest with the Paste Preview or Structure tool pasted it as two separate single chests instead of a single double chest
- The Block Inspector tool now highlights the currently selected block with a bounding box, giving a clear visual indicator of which block is being inspected
- Fixed the Primitives Tool preview and placement to follow the Fixed Distance cursor projection
- The Flood Tool no longer errors when pressing Ctrl+D to remove a preview that has already been removed
- Editor property pane items no longer display an empty tooltip when there is no tooltip text to show, such as the Flood Tool progress bar
- The Dimensions tool now returns the player to their last-known position in the target dimension, or the origin on first visit
- The Farm Generator tool now offers Pale Oak, Dark Oak, Nether Brick, and Mangrove fence options
- Fixed a bug in the Biome Data Assignment tool where the Allow biome tag list was matched with a logical AND, so only biomes containing every allowed tag were eligible; allowed tags are now matched with a logical OR, so a biome is eligible if it has any of the allowed tags
- Fixed a bug in the Vibrant Visuals color settings where dragging a timeline playhead no longer scrubbed the viewport time, so color and value keyframes could not be previewed across the day/night cycle
- Fixed a bug that caused the sliders connected to any Vibrant Visuals "Enabled" checkbox to be manipulated with the checkbox toggled off
- Fixed a bug that caused incorrect theme color to display for disabled text field
- Added a Timeline panel to the Cinematic Tool for visualizing and editing keyframes along the camera path
- Renamed "Control Points" to "Keyframes" throughout the Cinematic Tool to align with standard animation terminology
- Removed all transaction recording and management functionality from the TransactionManager API and moved it to the PendingTransaction object. Transactions are now created through createPendingTransaction function, while staged changes are finalized using the submit and discard methods
- Added pending transaction support for ClipboardItem.writeToWorld and BrushShapeManager APIs
- Added a drag handle to the cinematics timeline so the timeline duration can be adjusted directly in the editor

- Lowered the Nether's minimap scan Y-level so the map skips the bedrock ceiling
- Removed the "X" button from progress windows for the Custom Mesh, Primitive, and Flood tools
- Fixed a bug that appears in Layout Template Manager during 'Copy Template' operation when copying a template with structures. The template is copied along with name and display name. The fix is that the name and display name metadata are set from the caller.
- Fixed a bug where the custom cursor does not change from wait/load icon after canceling the flood operation
- Fixed a bug that caused Collection Tree UI element width to be incorrect
- Fixed incorrect example json for Height Difference Filter documentation
Entity Components
- Added a new require_collision_overlap boolean field to minecraft:pushable_by_entity's presets:
- Determines whether the collision boxes of two entities must overlap for pushing to occur
- For format versions 1.26.40 and higher, this field defaults to true
- For format versions below 1.26.40, this field defaults to false
- Made the following changes to the minecraft:apply_knockback_rules component:
- Renamed scale_previous_velocity to slowdown_scale
- horizontal_power is no longer scaled by 0.4 internally
- Similar values for horizontal_power and vertical_power now produce similar knockback on both axes
- Deprecated the following fields:
- horizontal_hit_angle_scale
- vertical_hit_angle_scale
- vertical_position_angle_scale
- Added a new field, knockback_mode, which provides more intuitive control over how knockback is applied:
- relative_horizontal (default): Applies knockback along the horizontal direction from attacker to target
- hit_direction: Applies knockback based on the hit direction and point of impact (for example, hits from below push upward, and hits on the left side push to the right)
- The component is no longer in Beta
- Made the following changes to the impact_damage on_hit subcomponent of minecraft:projectile:
- Added a ceil_pre_critical_damage boolean field that rounds the projectile's damage up to the next integer before the critical hit multiplier is applied
- power_multiplier is now applied regardless of the difficulty_randomization mode, so it can be used on its own to scale damage by the projectile's velocity
- The resulting value is added to damage to define the projectile's base damage
- Its default value changed from 2 to 0 so that prior content remains unchanged when neither field is specified
- Replaced the semi_random_diff_damage boolean field with difficulty_randomization, which controls how the world difficulty contributes to the final damage:
- none: difficulty is ignored (default)
- additive: a difficulty-driven term is added to the base damage (matches the previous behavior when semi_random_diff_damage was true)
- multiplicative: a difficulty-driven term is added to power_multiplier before it scales by the projectile's velocity
- Content authored against earlier format versions is automatically upgraded when loaded in 1.26.40 or later to preserve existing behavior2
- Added the minecraft:not_pickable_from_inside entity component
- When set, the entity cannot be targeted by a cursor hit-test while the picker's point of view lies inside the entity's collision box
- Made the should_bounce boolean field of the minecraft:projectile component into an enum:
- no: the projectile never bounces (default)
- if_invulnerable: the projectile bounces only when the target is invulnerable to the damage source (e.g. creative mode, shield blocking)
- if_no_damage_dealt: the projectile bounces whenever no damage was dealt, regardless of the reason (invulnerability, damage sensor, invulnerability frames)
- Content authored against earlier format versions is automatically upgraded when loaded in 1.26.40 or later: true becomes if_invulnerable and false becomes no
Features
- Added content error when loading features with identifiers that already exist within the same behavior pack
General
- Fixed invulnerability bypass when changing damage of entity hurt before event during lethal damage
- Fixed invulnerability timer floating-point cycling issue for very small damage diffs
Graphical
- Optimized FrameGraph topological sorting algorithm by replacing DFS-based approach with Kahn's algorithm for improved performance and clarity
- Tightened the anti-x-ray trigger box to avoid false-positive cases when riding a mob
- Fixed custom blocks rendering a stray solid face that could bleed through textures when a model face was hidden by setting one of its UV size dimensions to zero
- Fixed texture bleeding on custom blocks using automatic block face UV assignment with undersized textures
- The MERS textures for following baby mobs and Rabbits are now visible
- Baby Humanoid Chainmail Armor
- Baby Dolphin
- Baby Fox
- Baby Goat
- Baby Hoglin
- Baby Panda
- Baby Warm Pig
- Baby Zombie Piglin
- Rabbits
- Snifflet
- The tamed baby Wolf's collar now has a proper MERS texture
Items
- Fixed minecraft:shooter component not being able to shoot if no ammunition was defined
- Items declared with a format_version of 1.26.30 or higher now require at least one entry under minecraft:item.components. Previously such items would silently fall back to legacy item parsing; they now fail to register with a content error.
- Custom item definitions in resource packs now reliably override their Vanilla counterparts in two previously-broken cases:
- A custom definition using an older format_version will now be applied on top of a Vanilla item that ships with format_version 1.16+ (previously the custom data was silently dropped). In Vanilla this only affects minecraft:apple and minecraft:breeze_rod.
- A custom definition targeting a Vanilla item by its flattened identifier (e.g. minecraft:enchanted_golden_apple) now correctly applies even when Vanilla defines the item under its legacy identifier (e.g. minecraft:appleEnchanted). (MCPE-185730)
Item Components
- Updated item schema validation so minecraft:item.components now requires at least one component entry for item documents in v1_26_30 and beta
JSON Schema
- Updated the generated Minecraft JSON Schema files to use a more granular schema layout instead of producing one self-contained schema file per registered type. This reduces duplicated schema content and makes the generated schemas easier to consume with external tools.
- Added binary-protocol metadata to generated SharedTypes JSON Schemas, including ordinal index, control value type, underlying type, and serialization options. This gives tools more information about the binary layout of the objects described by the JSON Schemas.
Networking
- When connecting to a dedicated server, the client probes the server for NetherNet support with a 3 second timeout. WinHTTP does not honor this timeout in the following situation:
- The client connects to the server by URL instead of IP.
- The server hostname's DNS record contains multiple IP addresses.
- The server is behind a firewall that drops the client's probe TCP packets instead of responding with an RST.
- Instead of a 3 second timeout for the entire connection attempt, WinHTTP enforces a (3 seconds) * (number of IP addresses in DNS record) timeout.
- This bug has been fixed by enforcing an overall 3 second timeout.
Particles
- Particles using textures from the font folder no longer produces erroneous content log error (MCPE-238790)
Sounds
- Fixed the destroy block sound position to be at the center of the block instead of at the corner (MCPE-60799)
User Interface
- Refactor of ProfileSystem subscriptions for a speculative fix for profile fetches resulting in a crash due to stale reference
- Small geometries using the "item_display_transforms" -> "gui" -> "fit_to_frame": false option will now be properly centered in format_version 1.21.130 and above (MCPE-234752)
Experimental Technical Updates
Add-Ons
- Improved the experimental JSON document upgrader: configuration parsing errors are now surfaced through the upgrader's error logging, errors that abort an upgrade are recorded in the error log, and files found outside of a pack are ignored instead of failing the run

},
"music_info": {
"genres": ["electronic", "ambient"],

- Changed remove() to accept either a Player or AllowListEntry and removed accepting string as parameter. Adds InvalidArgumentError to this function when AllowListEntry has both name and xuid properties set to undefined.
- Changed contains() to accept either a Player or AllowListEntry and removed accepting string as parameter. Adds InvalidArgumentError to this function when AllowListEntry has both name and xuid properties set to undefined.
- Added new beta enum CloneMode with values Copy, ForceCopy, and Move that specifies how blocks are cloned between regions
Dimension
- Added cloneBlocks method to beta that clones a region of blocks from one area of the dimension to another, with support for clone modes and an optional block filter
SoundDurationInfo
- The playback position now reflects calls to SoundInstance.seekTo
- While a sound is paused via SoundInstance.pause, the playback position no longer advances; SoundInstance.resume continues from where it was paused
Blocks
- When applying a "minecraft:sixteen_way_rotation" value via console command, autocomplete suggestions will now correctly show numbers 0-15. Sixteen-way placement direction block trait now applies its rotation with the same orientation as existing Cardinal Direction and Facing Direction traits.
- Added some trait restrictions for blocks with the minecraft:multi_block trait
- Cannot also define the minecraft:connection trait
- Cannot also define the minecraft:placement_position trait
- If the minecraft:placement_direction is defined, only the minecraft:cardinal_direction state is allowed to be enabled
- The component minecraft:geometry cannot define n_way_visual_rotation for multi-blocks
- Cannot also define the minecraft:block_entity component
- Each pack now has its own 1KBytes block dynamic properties limit instead of being global
- Storage structure was updated, your saved properties will be lost

- Block-entity's dynamic-properties stored on an item-stack can now be modified through the new set method
- Block dynamic properties are now bucketed by manifest-UUID rather than module-UUID
- Added support for y_rotation_offset when using the minecraft:sixteen_way_rotation placement direction block trait.
- Added horizontal "direction" support for the minecraft:multi_block trait. These new directions "north", "south", "west", "east" still require Upcoming Creator Features experiment to be enabled. When placing horizontal multi-blocks if one or more parts go into an unloaded LevelChunk then the placement of all parts is delayed until both LevelChunks are loaded, delayed placement actions are persistent and saved to Level storage until they are executed. If placing the horizontal multi-block in a structure template, and then rotating the structure, the block parts will only rotate properly if the multi-block is also defined with the minecraft:placement_direction trait enabling the minecraft:cardinal_direction state, otherwise the multi-block parts will not respect the structures rotation
Voxel Shapes
- Added occlusion voxel shapes for one-arm, two-arm, three-arm, four-arm, and full-arm wall connections. These shapes will be applied to all Wall variations when the Voxel Shapes experiment is enabled. These shapes improve face culling so that hidden faces of custom blocks are correctly removed when attached to different Wall geometries: single posts, wall runs, corners, T-junctions, intersections, and wall clusters
DDUI
- Fixing default behavior for close button bellow DDUI custom forms
- Default visibility value is false
Editor
- Removed and replaced uses of minecraft/server CompoundBlockVolume in the Experimental API with the beta minecraft/server-editor RelativeVolumeListBlockVolume
Items
- Added a new loot function "carry_over_block_entity_data" with a single boolean field "dynamic_properties" defaulted to false
- When looting a block with a block-entity and dynamic-properties, it will try to carry its dynamic-properties over to the created item-stack
- Requires "Upcoming Creator Features Experiment"
Jigsaw Structures
- A Jigsaw Structure's layout will now be persisted to disk if any intersecting chunks are saved. This makes partially saved Jigsaw Structures less prone to breaking because of configuration changes. The feature will be incrementally rolled out to online devices and Realms.
Sounds
- Added a new minecraft:server_sound_definitions payload to sounds/sound_definitions.json that lets behavior packs declare server-side sound definitions for sounds played from script
- Each definition can include an optional duration_info with a seconds length and a mode that controls how playback time is tracked
- A mode of game_time means the duration is tracked by ticks
- A mode of real_time means the duration is tracked by wall-clock time
Example:
{
"format_version": "beta",
"minecraft:server_sound_definitions": [
{
"sound_event_name": "creatorpack:my_cool_song",
"duration_info": {
"mode": "game_time",
"seconds": 180.0
}
},
{
"sound_event_name": "creatorpack:my_other_song",
"duration_info": {
"mode": "real_time",
"seconds": 12.5
}
},
{
"sound_event_name": "creatorpack:ambient_loop"
}
]
}
- Fixed a crash that occurred when loading a behavior pack containing a sounds/sound_definitions.json file with the minecraft:server_sound_definitions payload
- Added minecaft:sound block component
- it requires format version 1.26.20 and Experimental Upcoming Creator Features
- it can be used to assign a set of sounds to block and its permutations similar to sound field in blocks.json
- blocks.json overrides values of minecraft:sound component, including values in all permutations
{
"format_version": "1.26.20",
"minecraft:block": {
"description": {
"identifier": "test:test_block"
},
"components": {
"minecraft:sound": {
"sound": "glass"
}
}
}
}
User Interface
- Removed the Point Light Shadow Quality slider and merged its functionality into the Point Light Quality slider. These sliders are available only when the "RenderDragon Features for Creators" experiment toggle is enabled for Vibrant Visuals.
