The Coordinate system used in Minecraft should be like the one we use in Real Life.
Real Life:
x = West to East (negative to positive)
y = South to North (negative to positive)
z = Vertical axis
Sea Level = 0
Minecraft:
x = West to East (negative to positive) (Like real life)
y = Vertical axis
z = North to South (North is negative and South is positive)
Sea Level = 63
Not only is it not using the same basis (the same letters) that literally everyone else uses, it's even got North-South going in the wrong direction! It makes trying to figure out one's own direction and bearings in relation to coordinates and direction unnecessarily confusing. Like, every time I think about which direction I'm going I have to rethink and remind myself about how the coordinates work specifically in Minecraft.
Look at this graph...
You can clearly see the difference between how we in Minecraft have to do coordinates and how literally everyone else on the entire planet does it...
"But we've already gotten used to this coordinate system and it'd be too much hassle to change now..."
They said the same thing about moving over from imperial units to decimal. Can you imagine what it'd be like if still had to use pounds/ounces/inches/miles etc.? The longer we leave it the worse it will be.
Whilst I'm here, we should also have an option for having coordinates in a corner without having to have the debug screen. Perhaps a customizable "Dashboard panel" of some description.
