I’ll preface this by saying that I understand that Jeb already clarified spin-off mobs will likely not join vanilla Minecraft unless the opportunity presents itself, but I believe there’s a perfect justification for the Regal Tiger. As it is, in of itself, an “ancient” mob and clearly inspired by the Smilodon, it could be a great mob to compliment the Sniffer.
The idea I had for it was that the Regal Tiger itself would not spawn naturally, but you could find a rare ancient fish item which by itself cannot be eaten, but instead can be fed to ocelots (Perhaps it’s found in a structure like igloos in the basement, building more mystique around them.) After two ocelots are bred with the item, they’d make a baby Regal Tiger (This idea is based on the idea to bring back mammoths in real life by having a female elephant be a donor for the baby with dna found in frozen mammoths) which by itself is neutral and can be tamed with the same fish item. Maybe it can be commanded to do specific acts with goat horns? I just think it’s too much to a good opportunity to not think of, and the prehistory of Minecraft is fascinating enough to expand.
