As the most recent Minecraft live announced, 1.20 will be a collaboration between the community and Mojang to shape the update. As Camels have already been announced and the no longer extinct Sniffer emerging, now is the time to look to the deserts and the history of the Overworld. Deserts and Badlands have needed attention for some time and the unity between archeology could be the interest the community has been looking for. As ancient fossils have already been discovered in the desert it would make sense to have dig sites for ancient civilisations and items as well. This way, the logistical problem of using a brush on any dirt or gravel is removed and instead, a dedicated set of variant sand, gravel and dirt blocks, found exclusively in these biomes near new ruined structures, or even the underappreciated wells. Perhaps wells are the remains of ancient settlements, varying in scale.
