Putting redstone on blocks like chests, hoppers, etc. to upgrade them do specific tasks and only can be obtained later game due to its complex items to be obtained by searching and/or by creating such items. my idea is that hoppers can be sorters, distributors, or combined in different ways possible so that in-game sorters can be compacted into 1 block space, while chest can be also hoppers with built-in sorting or maybe just become battery like chest where it just stops the flow of item until powered. I have also thought of having a Placer Block that places blocks, and a Remover Block that removes or replaces specific(or not) blocks in front of it like observers where when it detects it will respond correctly. Adding repeaters in recipe can be also good because it will delay incoming signals for example for observer, adding a repeater can adjust how much delay will happen, making flying machines to be faster or slower. Also making logic (e.g or, nor, and, nand, xor, xnor, etc.) become blocks will make redstone more compact and simple.
