Ancient Allomyrina

While brishing in the gravel for pot shards, you could find Ancient Larvea. If you don't throw them away in 5 seconds,they would hatch into Ancient Allomyrina, inspired by Rinoceros Beetles.  They would be a slab shape with two horns on top, one smaller and behind than the other. They would have small pinchers and four thin legs   They would attack you for a short period and then run away. They would eat all forms of vegitation, leaves, cactus, moss, and grass to dirt. The Allomyrina would duplicate every 30 blocks eaten. They would have high-ish health due to their shells. This would provide a caution to archeology and a sort of pest system to Minecraft. Since the sniffer has won the Mob vote, you could use them to stop this pest. Adult sniffers would attack the beetles, and beat them, no contest. They would drop their shells and Allomyrina flesh. Smelting it would grant 3 hunger points, and the effect Lucious Haste. If you have this effect, you can break plant blocks faster.
