Sniffers and Ancient Seeds Concept

Big. Lumbering. Adorable. All of these could describe the Sniffer as it appears in the mob vote teaser. It's seed-hunting characterization could also describe it as an herbivore. Perhaps sniffers could "sheer" vines by chewing them or chew tree logs and strip them.

But, for a creature that seems to be herbivorous. What if it dug up ancient seeds for ancient plants that were carnivorous? A venus fly trap-like plant or a whipping snare kind of plant could be an ingenuity in a game with no actively aggressive plant life. Maybe, an ancient version of a berry bush had a thorny maw, but through centuries of evolution was left to just it's brambles.

    This would be sweet to have a carnivorous plant.

    Some awesome ancient plant species are horsetails, cycads and ferns. Though they don’t really produce seeds, they are some super cool blasts from the past. They also have living relatives today, though they all pale in comparison of size.
    These species would fit into existing biomes, while allowing a giant, ancient form to be obtained!

    I also love the idea of a carnivorous plant, especially if it would interact with the player.
