Currently trading with villagers is massively unbalanced. For example you can get 1 emerald for 32 sticks or for 1 diamond. How is that balanced? There is no reason to use most of the trades because the other few are just too good. Also there is no way to change list of trades via data packs. One can only make a villager with custom trades using commands but this do not resolve the problem because the list of available trades per level is not possible for changing in game or with data packs. Ideally you could allow data packs to change list of trades per profession level this would give more creative freedom to the players making custom maps. Or at least you could balance the trades and add some new ones.
