When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).
The Redstone Tank, (Placeholder name) would be a device that detects the weight of items placed inside. These items could be water and sand. When a threshold is met it emits a Redstone signal.
I think this could be an alternative item to the pressure plate. I think it would be cool to walk through a player made dungeon/ruin, and have to solve puzzles like these.
