When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

Water wheel (Redstone)

The water wheel would be a Redstone contraption 1 block in size. The water wheel would work by turning when running water. This would turn the wheel generating a Redstone signal. 

I think this would be a new and fun Redstone tool, and would make Redstone engineers very happy. It could be cool for Redstone puzzles.

To finalize, I would very much prefer a large waterwheel, say 7x7 blocks, but that is unlikely to be done in vanilla minecraft. Of course we have double block items like doors and beds, but a 7 block wide items unheard of. None the less we can dream.
