As we all know, is villager trading quite op at the moment. And rather boring. It needs a rework of several things. Balance being one of the major things, and maybe move some or the functions away from villagers in general. During slicedlime and kingbdogz visit on hermitcraft I had a little idea
My proposal is, instead of the need to cycle trough several trades to get the perfect trades, you have to either find an item in the world to give them that trade. Ie. For Mending, you need to give a phantom membrane to a villager, and he will then gain the mending trade. Or for a silk touch trade you need to find a silk touch item, give it to a villager and he gains the silk touch trade. This would force the use of either enchantment table, or people would need to explore.
I would also love to see a bit more interaction between villagers themselves, where they would need to interact togheter to actually function. A shepard would need to get a shears from the toolsmith etc, so they actually need to be actually in a "town" together.
