Alligators would be great in the mangrove swamp and in Minecraft because they are docile unlike crocodiles, in the wild alligators are very territorial but they won’t attack unless they feel threatened. As a result, in Minecraft unless the player get to close or gets in the water, the alligator(s) will attacked because they feel threatened. Their chomp attack does 5 hearts (without amour) their jump attack, (when a alligator jumps out of the water to attack) it does 7 hearts of damage. Alligators can also blend in with the mangrove so they can ambush the players from the water. Alligators can lay eggs after they breed with 2 fish each, after breeding, a alligator will find a spot in the mud and burrow and the alligator can lay up to 10 eggs with a rare chance, about 1/12 chance to have a alligator lay a albino egg, which lays a albino alligator. Alligator eggs have a primary grey color, and secondary black color. Albino eggs are purely white. After swimming for 10 minutes a alligator will shed a scale, and if you collect 8 you can craft a scaly swamp chestplate which allows the player to swim with alligators for as long as they want, unless they hit the alligator. If a player decides to attack a alligator, the alligator will drop a alligator tail, alligator tails don’t stack but they restore hunger completely when cooked.
