The bowerbird is known for its unique characteristic of collecting blue things. I believe it would make a great and unique addition to Minecraft, and could have a unique interaction mechanic.
Mob Details
The bowerbird can be found in many colours, deep blue, green and the rare yellow/gold. They would be found in a forest, like the birch forest, flower forest or regular forest. They have a nest which is either on the ground near trees or on tree branches but not the top of the tree, think like the branches on a jungle tree.
Behaviour
The Bowerbird would fly around looking for things to make their nests and can often be seen dancing (as they practice to attract a mate). If they find stick, they will pick it up and take it to its nest.
Breeding
Here’s where a unique interaction can be introduced. In order to breed bowerbirds, the player must drop a piece of Lapis Lazuli on the ground. A bowerbird will pick it up and find the closest bowerbird and will perform a dance. They would then get heart particles and fly back to the nest where they will lay eggs.
The eggs will hatch on the sunrise of the 3rd day, where up to 3 baby bowerbirds will hatch.
Drops
Like turtles dropping scutes, when the baby bowerbird grows up it drops a bower feather. Collecting 4 of these feathers can allow the player to craft a pair of bower boots, which grants the player temporary slow falling (say 5-10 seconds) which starts from when a player leaves the ground and resets when the player touches the ground.
